Well she kind of is a moron. She wants the homeworld back but she decries anyone who presents a strategy for getting it back, no matter how bloodless. She's an immature little girl at heart.

Tali for admiral!!!

Yes but you admitted that you were marginally spited and that, had they not included VS and Liara you would have been even more spited by the spiters of spiterton.

I feel like I'm talking to Dr. Seuss here...

The feeling of being mildly spited by the Garrus part of the banner is easlily offset by the feeling of hilarity arising from the fact that the rest 3/4 of the banner entirely miss the point of the "variables" argument, and thus the people who sport that banner make themselves look not very smart, even though Bioware seems to be throwing a bone to them. That also reinforces the whole set of "BioWare dumbs games down to appeal to wider audience" arguments...

Argument finished then.

Squaddies can return, and the signature is very valid.

Not quite bud, we still reserve the right to bump this thread as and when new Squaddies are revealed.

The signature is, of course, valid, as a signature, since you can put a robo-pony in it, and it will still be valid as a signature. But as a point in a certain forum argument, it is silly, because the VS and Liara were never subjected to the "Variables that haunt the Fallen".

Now, if you stopped being stubborn and removed Liara and the VS from your sig, so that I finally could feel spited by Garrus saying "Ah, yes, variables...", we could continue the discussion. Only you'd be at a loss again, because you just admitted that the ME2 expendables shouldn't really return, and the "variables" argument was right. I mean, you admitted to spiting people with your sig, and it implies that you also admit they were right about the variables and their effects, but in spite of it, BioWare is bringing Garrus back, so go kill yourselves Zulu_DFA and Elite Midget. How elementary.

Ok, first of all I recognize that the Liara and VS situation is a little more ambiguous and open for interpretation. I don't agree with you and feel like they are valid but don't really feel like arguing that point beyond what Phaedon has already said.

I will ask you how exactly you came to the conclusion that the inclusion of old squadmates reinforces the idea of a dumbed down game?

They are in no way connected; the arguments of the "dumbed down" crowd revolve around inventory, character progression, and shooter combat not whether squadmates return or not.

If a squadmate returned that would at best validate the concept that Bioware is willing to "lower" itself to fan service but, as one of my recent threads proved, that is already an established fact. How you connect willingness to succumb to fan demands and the "dumbing down" of the game is a bit beyond my realm of comprehension. The two arguments are not related.

But I am not the stubborn one here. I am the one who posed the argument which you didn't reply to but still believe is wrong? Therefore, you are the stubborn one?

Absolutely not.
I have presented my argument from day one; the variables do exist but they are in no way complex.

 How elementary.

It is, my dear Zulu.

Thrownig a bone to the people who tend to miss points is dumbing down the game.

As long as a large portion of sales is guarantied by the people who care about nothing but old squadmates, it's quite natural that it doesn't pay to make any extra efforts to develop, refine and polish other aspects of the game, so they can just be dumbed down. Who cares about the inventory, as long as the calibrations are back!

Yes, I remember how Christina Norman was frustrated about the fact that she had to write both the plot and polish the gameplay.

Poor girl.

I think you underestimate both BioWare and their costumers. Unless you think you are way smarter than them all of course.

That's right.

Give Tali the Geth data => She is your fangirl, and mentions that you've given her the data.
Deny Tali the Geth data => She is your fangirl, and a moron.

The Thorian, like anyone from the two first games, can never return. Variables you know.

Hehe this thread has gotten silly. Why not just start a thread entitled, "I told you so, Zulu and Elite: Why I was right about ME3"?  Nevermind the fact that the game hasn't come out yet, and Garrus could end up being a squadmate for five minutes...or for the entire game.

I fail to see how this makes the Geth data flag complex, unfortunately.

No, but she wouldn't get away with her "improvements" to ME2 so easily, if it wasn't for the happy talimancers, calibrationists, and the new fashion show winners' fanbases.

The improvements that the reviewers praised and that gave the game so many awards? Yeah, I guess you are right.

That's because it's doesn't. And not making the Geth data flag complex detracted from the quality of ME2, as it came across as bad writing.
