Oh calm down, this is a public board and we can all participate - publicly.

That said - have you read the Game Informer article yet Elite Midget?

Or has anyone else here read it?  I've just finished reading it.

Yes. Pretty interesting stuff

Not read the full article yet, being in a third world country where the magazine doesn't exist (ie/ the UK)...

I can't link it - but you can read it on LJ.

Ooh, awesome, thanks for the heads-up! :)

No problemo - just do a search for mass effect - you'll find it.

I'm still waiting for my copy. Curse you, US Postal Service!

I especially want to read it because I want to know exactly what it says about TIM. I feel incapable of participating in all the TIM & Cerberus related threads without having read the article.

Sooon.

Insofar as returning squad members - it seems very reassuring that we're going to goof around with most if not all previous squad members.  This rawks.

Seems there is a flexible roster if you got squadmembers, like Garrus, killed.

Definately going to have to google it sometime soon.  (UK so options are somewhat limited).

Personally, while I may end up disappointed, I still hope that they all return, after all if Bioware weren't prepared to return them why create so many in the first place and include the 'No one left behind' achievement?

They made their beds and all that.

Yup.

You know, in direct response to Elite's point about some fans getting screwed, Casey Hudson pretty much says he doesn't think anyone gets screwed - because the value is in the replay.  At least, that's my take on what he's saying.  He mentions replay value more than once and is convinced this is a selling point for the game.

I just have a hard time seeing new squad members to replace those we had in ME2. According to ME2, and other games, it's obvious Bioware likes to make in-depth characters. ME2 was the perfect example of this. And you think all that effort that was put into making those characters will be scrapped so they can do it all again to a new batch of squad-mates for the 3rd game? I doubt it.
ME1 = amazing plot/story
ME2 = character development / sideways plot (lolcollectors)
ME3 = Stopping the reapers. (and what we hope is amazing plot/story)

BTW: OP, you are aware that Garrus has already been confirmed as a squad mate, yes?

Up to a point, I'd agree. I for one can't afford to buy a game just to play it once, which is why i can be a little critical of the game at times.  I want the best I can get for what little money I have.

The article says there's only going to be a few new squad members - so this is pretty much panning out like some of us have been saying - alive squad from previous games along with a a few new one's.  The article makes it very clear that Bioware is not going to desert the old squaddie's.

Again with the insults Dave and AlmostFace? Of course that shou;ld have been expected after 30+ Pages of you hurling insults at others and enabling others to do so as well since they agreed with you.

Edit: Again you don't read all of my posts ands only single out what you want to read CG. Just like old times, no? Didn't you read my request to take this to PMs or make a new Topic since I've already requested a lock? Do you have that little respect for others that you can't even comply with a simple request as that?

Elite Midget, I think you misunderstand what many have posted. Yes people have derailed your thread, yes they have unkindly destroyed your thesis, and yes they have trolled you but the main ones insulting individuals are you and Zulu.

In this very post you imply that CGG has no respect for others because she continues to post in your thread.

Zulu implied that many of his detractors were idiots and insulted their intelligence directly.

The main thing that your detractors have said is that your argument has very little validity based on the recent GI article. Yeah, they went about it rudely but they didn't often insult you.

You can have the few new guys fill any niches characters like Tali, Garrus, and Miranda would fill if they died.

I've mentioned this in other threads, but without the character development/loyalty aspect being the central focus, it'll be much easier for Bioware to make sure people get access to most of the content, no matter who they're missing. For example, the Garrus-related mission could just offer some slight roleplay bonuses if he's alive. Otherwise, you just do it using someone else in your squad and miss a cutscene or conversation or two.

I said the same thing in a few posts on this thread.  Take Tali for example, if she's alive and in your Squad, then when you go to talk to the Quarians to ask for their help Tali may have some useful information that makes it easier to sway them.  If she's dead then you can still sway them, but without that insight its much harder.

Thats just one example.

You clearly haven't read this whole Topic GA. If you did you would know that this Topic was made way before the GI issue thus your arguement hsa no basis for what happened up to page 24.

Waiting for that lock.

Ok, I don't want to totally derail this thread, but is it specified that he is out to KILL you? Or is it possible he's just trying to find you to do something to you? Also, I assume the article at least heavily implied that he'd be after you in some way pretty much no matter what decisions you made in the last game?

I haven't read the article but from what i can gather from the pictures it seems to me that there will be more melee combat in ME3, I saw a guy using a baton and a woman with a sword and even a rifle with a bayonet.

Cerb's after you know matter what.  Why they want to stop ol' Sheppykins Bioware refuses to say.  Jerks.
