Nathanial won't show up in my game no matter what I do which is annoying. It even said he survived. Bollocks.
So when they fix the story issues will we have to start over

Okay, I lied. I had one glitch.
The Nathanial quest didn't show up for me either. But apparently this glitch is somehow linked to the quest "Fool's Gold" which appears in Act II. Not sure how the two are linked or what the exact problem is... but yeah. That's what I heard.

You get that one if Nathanial didn't survive. His survival doesn't flag for everyone apparently regardless of the fact he survived or not.

Gotcha. Not sure why the two are mutually exclusive... but alright. Hope they fix it some day.

Until recently, I just assumed that wasn't a bug, and that the Warden just came back, maybe to try and do something about the recently revived shapeshifting witch that he killed a few years back.DanteCousland wrote...
Also I went through the eluvian with Morrigan and apparently I was meant to return to Denerim :/...
But I wouldn't mind having to re-play it. I've already restarted the game every time I got the Leliana cameo bug with an earlier save, from Witch Hunt, to Golems, to Awakening. I have a topic open to see what I miss if I don't import an awakening save, cause next I'm going to play with an Origin save.
And yes, I am aware of how OCD I am because of that.

Lets be honest its better if you have a surviving character not show up than a dead one who does show up. I mean it might be annoying but at least it makes sense.

@ Ghost Red yes I completed origins and all DLC plus awakening and then imported and yes I checked it twice.

Yeah, that was disappointing. On one hand, it's rather saddening to have that sort of a retcon. On the other, that's just a casualty of trying to to take *EVERYTHING* into account.
So, as a player, it's rather lame (even though it is a well-written role that would not have the same emotional impact if it were a newbie); but as a developer (albeit an independent one), I understand why they did it.
It's one of the many issues I'm conflicted on with DA2.
