Oh, goody. So to avoid crashes a player must re-download the same content dozens of times bundled up in bespoke haks? Why? As a content creator why should I be deprived of feedback when there is so little of it anyway? By all means create your own top hak with your own unique content and custom 2das to get standard assets from the vault to work nicely together. Send your players to get what else is needed from the vault and keep them informed when you upgrade those assets.

Unfortunately, this is almost never a feasible solution. It's the age old question of: "Do I want to eliminate barriers to entry, or do I want to create several?"

 

Which one are your customers going to be more likely to do? Probably not go hunting for creator downloads.

ZWerkules already explained that it wouldn't work, but then he asked a question. I was answering that question. I see your point in a context where backward compatibility is a given. I understand now that for this game, version numbers in the file name are not needed or desirable.

 

Didn't mean to jump on you specifically. Sorry if it felt personal.

 

It is not you have issues with. Just the problem where people embed version numbers in a tiles hak.

 

I really didn't mean to belittle you or tear you down. Sorry that it came across that way.

I am completely in love with both the Medieval City and Medieval Rural tileset. It's almost like i don't need any other for outside areas :D!

Very nice area. And I love the skybox.

I also noticed that the ground below the ships still has a different colour than the rest of the seafloor. Are you using an older version of the hak, or did I miss a few ships when I fixed that bug?

I am using a version of the hak downloaded the 5th of march 2016.

And indeed, there is a slight difference in colour :(

That's the latest version, so I must have missed a ship or two. Though it looks as both ships are the same, so maybe I just missed one.

Another thing that is quite possible is that I already fixed it and forgot to put the fixed files in the hak. :P

Except for the Harbor.  It gives a 404 and the webserver is sooooo depressed about it.

Wow, that webserver sure talks alot!

Hmm, that one video didn't end up in the "video" directory like all the others. I forgot to tick the "video" checkbox when I uploaded it.
I fixed that and the link should work now.

So when is that module/world coming out ?

The problem with being able to make a model you need yourself is that you end up doing almost every piece of armour, every placeable, every robe and even most of the creatures/npcs yourself, because if something isn't 100% what you want you aren't going to use it.
I only have one group and three features left that I need for the medieval city and a few groups and features I need for the rural tileset, but I still need to create a whole new interior tileset which matches the outsides of the buildings as well as a caves and mines tileset. The keep tileset also needs some more groups and features and even a new terrain.
When the tileset work is finished, I can work on placeables and creatures.
After that I can start to work on the module and only work on extra custom content when I need more.
I probably won't finish all that this year, but will be able to work on the module early next year.
Since all the scripts and dialogues etc are already finished, this won't take so long.
I'll just have to add more henchman interaction. They talk to each other, but none of them takes part in any conversations the PC has with NPCs. I want to change that and make them comment on some things and sometimes help with intimidation, persuasion and insight checks depending on their skills.

I know the feeling all too well...

 

I was making Modules before I figured out what Gmax was.

Now I'm having ideas for Modules and building all the endless CC that the Module absolutely definitely must have instead of the actual Module itself.

And thus the Modules take forever.

And when I do get to attack a Module, I'm mostly still rebuilding all the old ones having now nailed together piles of CC they SHOULD have had the first time round.

It becomes frustrating at times. Tilesets especially so; I must have at least twenty of them on the go and not one of them more than half finished... But at least whilst you and others are doing your Tilesets and making it look so easy (emphasis on the "look"), all I have to bother with is the Hideously Contorted SpleenWorld Tilesets and things that nobody else wants.

 

"Caves and Mines" sounds interesting.

I bet you could do a really interesting combined  mines/caverns/sewer type tileset (even if your paws get slightly wet). <OK I'm fishing here - don't often catch anything though>.
