Hi,

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I could do with some advice and I'm new to the forums. I'm planning on buying ME2, but I'm torn between getting it on PS3 (which has free DLC) or getting it on Steam for my PC. My main concerns are the save bug, and being unable to access the Cerebus network and the interactive comic. Has the save bug been fixed? What does the Cerebus network actually do? I mean does it stop me from playing the DLC Kasumi, Overlord and Shadowbroker, or does it offer something else entirely?

I'd obviously prefer to get the game for the PS3 as it has additional content I'd have to pay extra for on PC, but I'm worried about bugs in the PS3 version and not being able to access all of the content on the disc from the date I purchase the game.

Again, sorry if these questions have been answered already, any help ould be much appreciated.

thanks.

ive seen only two or three peple reporting the game not working at all here or freezing on startup so the game will most likely work.

DLC will most likely work as well, shadow broker freeze is a bit more common, the save corrupting glitch is less likely after the patch but ive still seen reports of it happening so play it safe and backup character saves in a flash memory every once in a while if your game freezes often. NG+ glitch and lack of audio sync is there in every copy, sound skipping pretty common as well.

So yeah, chances are your game will work if thats the concern, is it still glitchy? yes, very so consider the PC version if it makes little difference to you.

If I was you I wouldn't even consider getting the PS3 version, sure the DLC is tempting but so far the game is buggy as hell and it really takes me out of enjoying the game. If I had a PC capable of running ME2 I would get that version for sure, especially since I could import my character. The ME Genesis comic on the PS3 is pretty neat, but importing your character is the most interesting thing about this franchise.

If you're fine with the occasional freeze, out-of-sync sound effects in almost every single cutscene, NG+ not working properly and a bunch of other performance related hiccups, get the PS3 version.

If your PC is capable of running ME2 without any problems and you you're easily distracted by graphical / sound related glitches, get the PC version. You don't have to worry about the PS3 version running on the ME3 engine, because honestly the difference is negligible.

My PC isn't good enough to run ME2 so I got it for the PS3 and while it's still a great game, I can't say I was blown away by its performance. It's without a doubt the buggiest game I've ever played on a console.

So your audio doesn't go out of sync during cutscenes? What about Overlord, you don't get the horrible pixelated textures? I thought everyone is having those issues.

saving seems fine and all but as of patch 1.01 its still buggyas hell, personally I'm holding off playing it until theres another patch, too many glitches at the mo, game deserves to be played without them...

Thanks for everyone who replied. I think I'll hold off a bit before getting it, then.

Hopefully they'll patch the PS3 version when the Arrival DLC comes out, or when ME3 is released. Other than that, if it goes cheap on a Steam sale and the DLC is cheap I'll go for that instead.
