Hamlet quotes for the win?

So, here's the rub (I'm on a roll!). I kind of hate Carver. I gave him a fair shot, and he's not as much of an douche as he seems, but he's even more of an idiot than he seems.

Is there any way to "trick" the game into thinking that I'm a warrior or a rogue? Mages are my favorite class to play (I just got to Kirkwall on my new mage, and I can already tell that this will be true in DAII), but I'd really rather have Bethany around. I don't mind the game not treating me like a mage, since I'll probably be a blood mage and wear +health gear with constitution requirements.

So, what's the story in that department? Are Rosencrantz and Guildenstern dead?

you edit your save and add abilities

just click on the link in my sig and go to that section

If you would like to keep Bethany then you should make a game as a Rogue/Warrior and then add in the abilities of a Mage

Is there a way to strip away the warrior or rogue abilities? I don't want fifteen thousand skill trees in my UI :P

If you do the save game class swap swap to trick the game into giving you Bethany, things get broken pretty badly including; Carver's voice while Bethany stands there, Carvers voice and Bethany is invisible, and main quest triggers not triggering because the game expects Carver and he isn't there. Changing this, I imagine, is going to take some complex scripting.

Complex scripting could probably create a more ideal solution than what I was thinking... I don't know what this "class swap trick" is, but if the game actually thinks you're a warrior, why would it expect Carver?

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, I think the first replier's solution would work just fine, as long as I can remove the warrior/rogue trees.

Wait, no it wouldn't. Because it would still say I'm a Level X Warrior, instead of Mage. Which is nit-picky.

Lordy, why can't BioWare have made more female characters? Carver's flat chest scares me :(

I'm thinking about bringing ladydesire's Tevinter Warden class into DA2, but I'm not sure how well it will work as a magic using warrior class.

I'm not familiar with it... what's its concept? Something like Fenris's specialization?

No, it sounds like you want something that edits the scripts.

With the way the game is currently made it makes it that warriors/rouges will get Bethany and Mages get Carver and then if you start with a Rouge/Warrior and then add the Mage and strip away the Rouge/Warrior it will still follow the original intention of being the R/W but will have an invisible Carver every once in a while.

In DAo, her class had dual-wield and archery, as well as Primal and Creation mage abilities; I'm not sure how to work it into DA2, since I would pretty much have to rewrite the spell and talent scripts to work in DA2.
