Meh I'll actully have to think on this....think I'll go with Bio though, both are good companies, but Bethesda just seems a bit worse..

I know this good be a tough call for many people... but it's Bioware all the way for me. Has been my favorite developer for the last decade... and Bethesda games just never quite hooked me, though I did enjoy Fallout 3 for a little while before shelfing it indefinitely, and I am looking forward to trying Skyrim. But no. My choice is clear, and it's Bioware

I find it hard to contemplate voting for Bethesda. Bioware isn't a perfect developer but Bethesda just constantly bring out broken games that require endless patching, Fallout 3 was unplayable when it came out and Fallout NV was just as bad

Really? I got NV when it came out and the bugs were far and few between.

I think I'm going to vote for Bethesda. DA2 was just so bad. Skyrim may even be bad but it will still be many times better than DA2. Also Morrowind was a pretty good RPG. Oblivion was definitely better than DA2. I didn't play Fallout 3 though.

Has Bioware put out a good RPG since 2002?

edit: Obsidian did New Vegas.

Funny I thought the reverse. And I hate morrowind its ugly as ****. But Oblivion had alot of bugs and its system for leveling was too complex in a manner, as were all the various stats, they are dumbing down Skyrim as some on here would say.  And funny enough I think that would be for the best.

DA:2 was pretty good, at least I did beat it. Oblivion its like....zzz....uhh what what! Oh yeah....I haven't beaten oblivion as it bores the **** out of me. Its also why I haven't beaten DA:O but three times, out of 12 attempts. But I'm one of those unwashed filfthy JRPGers.

I love Morrowind but hate Oblivion and Fallout 3 with a passion. BioWare gets my vote because they have consistently entertained me for 13 years plus.

Morrowind looks a lot better than DA2. I have Screenshots of both. I mean technically the graphics in DA2 may be better, but Morrowind easily has more detail and just looks a lot better, and has better views, etc. Skyrim may be dumbed down, but it will still be better than DA2 even if it is.

It's probably easy to play a mindless game like DA2 for a lot of people. Morrowind and Oblivion actually have a lot of reading, lore, and story to it. It's easy for people who don't like to read to hate those games. Plus there is so much freedom. I'm sure a lot of people prefer everything to be so linear with one thin path to walk down in.

Its not the reading that bothers me at all. Or the Freedom. Its the combat and the pace that bothers me. I love sandbox games, and I've been a book nerd for years. And maybe on PC it looks better, but on X-box, morrowind was ugly as sin. All the people in the game looked like I smacked em in the face with a shovel. As to the views, it had two. Thrid person and First person.....wwwwooooooowwww.

And yeah that looks waaay better than DA:2 are we even playing the same game here?


And don't even get me ranting on the combat. which amounts to I press one button for a spell, or I swing a sword around like its a stick untill things stop moving.

I'm not really good with graphics and telling which are always better, but Morrowind looks better to me here.

Yes on a PC, and thats with high res and I suspect a good driver lets look at how it looked on release, hmm? looks so good doesn't it?

I'm really getting sick of this PC superiority complex, its like a ****ing political debate thread. When did PC gamers turn into such dicks? (not aimed at you so much as the DA:2 forum) I have been a PC player for a long time as well as those "stupid people" machines. And well in my gamer corner we never did crap like this ever. We didn't like a game it was

Meh I didnt' like it *list a couple of reasons nicely* then that was that.

Since the damn mid 2000's everything and I mean everything has gotten so polarized, and people don't see the dangers in it, one damn bit. God help us if you get a way to really track someone down on the net. Or when ME:3 comes out.

As a finaly edit, what in the **** happend to the days we all could like our own type of games and that was okay? Look I just don't like morrowind, so what? I'm sure I have games I like that you don't. Hell I still play CNC Tiberium Dawn. And it has no awards in the looks department....this is foolish.

Well they already released high res textures for DA2, so I figured it was the same. To me I like the world of Morrowind better. There just appears to be much more detail in the world than in DA2. It's really not being about elitist. I mean did you see the Witcher 2 hd video? There is just so much more detail than in DA2. Graphics aren't always important, but DA2 still has a ton of problems. If the graphics were the worst thing about DA2, I'd let it go because graphics don't matter much. It's just obvious the game was rushed and it shows in many different things.

DA2 is also incredibly linear compared to Morrowind. So for Morrowind to have so much detail in the huge world that was created is a plus compared to the linear paths of DA2 that don't have much detail.

Yes it has its problems and I would be more than happy to name them. I've seen several thats why in my book its only an 8.

But some people on here act like its the end of the world, and thats getting old, yah know. And its good you Like Morrowind, I just couldn't get into it, just like I never could any of the dead rising games. Yet I loved FF7. Or like, the Tales of games I rather enjoy.

As to Sandbox Vs "Hallway play" thats nothing new really. Only here recently have games been able to allow free play. As I recall DA:O wasn't that sandboxish either. But even now I have yet to see a fully Sandbox game. All worlds have an end in those games, some are just better at covering them up. I mean I remember alot of the earlier games, I think people have forgotten those. Where it was like, you can only go here, or here. Or you run in an open field and hit an invisable wall. Its the gameplay and how involved I feel in the game that matters most to me. Its for the fun, not to pretend to be something, or to look pretty. So I have sandboxes I love and hate, and "Hallway" games in the same department.

Hell I've played arcade games on here more often than some "real games" and though I have Sins of a Solar Empire, when I need an RTS fix, I throw in some of the older CNC games, or Star Wars EAW provided I have some mods to play.

I'd vote for Bioware but only by a pinch, Morrowind was possibly my favourite game of all time, up until Mass Effect 1 & 2. I did enjoy DA2, though I can't help imagining how much better it could have been if they spent another year on it. If they do a good enough job with Mass Effect 3 I'll be happy. It's a shame this isn't the final round. BioWare, Valve and Bethesda are probably most deserving. We'll probably see Valve vs. BioWare for the finals.

I think Blizzard will win that bracket. It will likely beat Bioware or Bethesda, and bottom bracket will be Obsidian and Valve. I'm not sure how popular Valve is right now, Obsidian just released New Vegas fairly recently.

Blizzard might take the whole thing if the WoW crowd is voting there.

If Blizzard wins It'll be thanks to WOW members. Starcraft 2 isn't that good, I'ld be happy to sell my copy if not for that registry crap, I don't even play it now...I don't even no where it is.

Though Valve has a strong fallowing. More so with fans of Half-life.

PS didn't see it, but was Nintendo on the list? I mean they are a developer.
