no offense, but bioware managed to ****** off there entire fanbase with DA 2 and mass effect 3s ending.

bungie only pissed off half of its fans with halo reach.

nvm how , just how does mojang beat valve?
they made like one game.

actully now that I think about it, it has been 5 years without a word on half life 3 so i guess its understandable.

I like Bioware, I like their games in general and especially DA:O plus few more but due to Skyrim and the mod kit being released which has created so many fantastic mods for that title by people... Bethesda should win (imho). If Bethesda hadn't released Skyrim+Kit. I would of said maybe Bioware instead but they did.

The date of this contest was a year ago when Mass Effect 3 still hadn't been released. Also I wouldn't really say that Bioware pissed of their entire fanbase with Dragon Age 2 as there are actually a great many who enjoyed it. It's true that Bioware is taking steps backwards nowadays but it would be foolish to deny the impact they've had on other role playings games and the past epics that they have produced which include the Baldur's Gate Saga, Neverwinter Nights, Mass Effect 1, Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2.

The only games I found average or above average were Jade Empire and Dragon Age 2. Mass Effect 3 meanwhile was a disappointment to me as soon as I played the demo and saw that it was an RPG lite. Still I wouldn't say that the gameplay was bad but I think everyone knows about the endings now...

So that's three games of Bioware that I have been disappointed with or haven't enjoyed as much as I have their other titles. Those three games still actually have a fanbase though and there are those who enjoy them. I mean there are still people discussing DA2's story and characters and replaying through it again and again. Those three games do have their fair-share of fans and most people hate ME3 only due to the ending.

I like the Halo series but can you really compare 11 hour games (On legendary difficulty) to 40 hour RPG's where there's different classes, paths, companions and choices to make each time you replay? Bioware won for a reason.

Minecraft lacks a story and characters though. Minecraft will be forgotten one day because there's already a million clones of the game coming out and one day there will be one that actually tops Minecraft.

No! Don't give me that look! This isn't about my hatred for Skyrim...

Well technically the people who created those mods for Skyrim should get praised rather than Bethesda themselves who released an unstable and bugged mess which should have seen release in 2056 because it's clear that Bethesda are mentally incapable of testing a game and probably need decades and new advanced technology just to help them out...

This thread shouldn't be shut down, but re-titled. I liked the contest.

I don't know how Bethesda got that far. They have been good pre-Morrowind when they actually made roleplaying games, but now they are the worse thing to happen to roleplaying games. Mods really don't count as a plus for Bethesda since they lean on them so much. If you are playing a Bethesda game on the consoles, you have no extra mods to make the games actually run well.

As for BioWare, their Baldur's Gate games get a lot of love, but their Dragon Age: Origins game is 10x's better than Oblivion or Skyrim. I'd have given it to BioWare too.

I'm glad to see that Obsidian did get some love. Rockstar definitely lost due the crap they pulled with GTA: IV.

I can't believe Mojang won. In 2011, the only game they released was Minecraft.
