I keep noticing the traps aren't activating correctly. The spike traps will appear out of the ground in an instant and slowly retract. This may not exactly be a bug, but it is odd looking. Also I try to time my movements so I run when the saws and spikes are down, but I get hurt even when nothing is coming out. Also after getting hurt I get stuck in place continously for about a minute. Also when I pull the levers to deactivate the traps it takes a while for them to actually stop.

After a couple of playthroughs, I have to agree on all the issues you noted. Although as a workaround, you can sometimes skirt by the traps without getting hurt if you stay as close to the walls as possible. Or get lucky and get knocked to the opposite side of them.

Yeah I found one where you can run along the side of it and avoid it, but most of the time it just gets annoying when the coast is clear then all of a sudden you are stuck, bleeding profusely with nothing going on around you for like a minute.

I found that by the time they appear in the game, Aveline can just walk straight through them. I assume to either a passive immunity (or high resistance) to knockback at this stage.
Though I doubt it's the intended method for dealing with those traps, it works well. You have to heal her injury afterwards however
