He should have been shirtless with pierced nipples. He just seems the type to have pierced nipples.

BioWare, your insistence that Fenris wear a shirt upsets me, and you have lost my support.

RUINED FOREVER

Not only he did, us Fengirls over at the
Fenris thread enjoyed it too, more than once at that! Really, it's not
about the sexy appeal either, it's the story/backstory that got me
hooked. Really really enjoyed the character development for all
companions in DA2. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png

Much obliged. It's nice to see that there's people who enjoyed the game, even if others did not.

If it matters to hear it I thought the game was very good, I just felt a little let down because it could have been a lot more and there where some things in the game I didnt care for, as well as bugs which I dont need to mention again because the forum in general are already beating the subject like a dead horse.  I very much would like to see the bugs fixed though, particuarly Merrills story and the companion bugs that make Hawke unplayable if the stat reduction gets applied to often.

If anything you made an enjoyable game and hopefully learned some things to keep doing in future titles and others to not use again or at least change.

Uh... I'm not sure about that one. XD Not sure how much more damage he'd want done to his body at this point. Aside from being slammed up against the wall -- whose idea was that, anyway? Not that I'm complaining, mind you, I'm just... wondering who to praise.

Can't say I was ever interested in Fenris' romance, but I did enjoy how his relationship with Hawke and the other companions develop over the course of the game. It was very touching to watch this damaged man learn to trust and rely on others, even if he didn't agree with them all the time.

The pain makes him feel alive. Then he goes and writes broody poems about how he is different from everyone else and that no one understands him.

Wouldn't nipple rings explode or something when Fenris' tattoos light up? ;-)

I loved Fenris' backstory - the whole thing about the fog warriors and his family. The fact that he competed for the tattoos. And the way his history has informed his feelings about magic. It was great playing a mage and having discussions with him about the way the weaker mages were turning to blood magic (I ended up supporting the mages with him helping me). I liked that he seemed to challenge my character.

I didn't understand why he kept brushing himself off when he was standing around, but I figured it had something to do with his tattoos.

Loved his nose too - he had a great profile. :-)

I also liked Sebastien a lot and was impressed with the amount of content that came with him. His banter with Fenris was fun.

The only thing he's pointing his arrow at are enemies unfortunately.

Things he points his arrows at tend to end up dead, so it's not that unfortunate IMO.

Agree. Like Tali's face, I just want to see what the entire tattoo looks like...

And maybe whether the designs extend to...certain places. Please don't ban me

Oh, I also don't see why Fenris would be standing next to the fireplace fully dressed in his armor after having sex. He should've at least been shirtless.  :-)

I wanted that, too.

The artists looked at me with their sad eyes. "Do you really want us to create an entirely new torso with all those tattoos just for that one scene?"

"That's a stupid question. Of course I do."

"Sigh. Okay, what do you want to cut, then?"

"Oh, bother."

So that's how that conversation went. I guess Fenris dresses really quickly. Maybe he was thinking he would be stabbed? Not an unrealistic expectation.

Anyhow, glad you enjoyed the romance. :)

Send me an account number and I´ll see what I can do to help after talking with some Italian friends... Ups, did I say that?

On a more serious note; am I right to say that Mr. Gaider loves "romances gone bad?" I mean, Fenris reminds me in a lot of ways from Morrigan: two individuals that find themselves in a very unconfortable place and try to navigate a situation where they are in full control.

I mean, if we compare to Merrill who is the "butterflies and flowers love", Isabela being the very phisical and sensual option or Anders, a more "psychological romance", Fenris strikes me as probably the most tragic one and to some extent quite unfullfilling in sense of not being really conventional (like Morrigan, then again).

what I loved about gay fenris is that he didn't hit on me forcing me to be gay or get 15 rivalry with him. It's good some people like some of the romances in the game most are lacking but whatever.

I think Fenris is fairly different from Morrigan. For one thing, his romance can end well. If you get him to 100% and give him both gifts there is a great scene just before the big battle where he kisses you in front of everyone after having some good dialog. Then, at the end they say that all the companions leave Hawke except for Fenris who stays by his side. Sounds like a good ending for the two of them.

Also, personality wise, Morrigan is always hiding things and you are never sure if you can trust her. Fenris is always very open about his motivations. He has some trouble with intimacy, which goes with his broodiness and history, but he gets over that with your help.

I was just talking to a friend about Fenris and Anders, and from a gay romance perspective Fenris is more of a top and Anders is more of a bottom.  ;-)

I have a question for the Fenris lovers.

And I would like to preface this with the fact that he was one of my favorite characters too.

At the climax I decided to side with the mages. Fenris disagreed... rather strongly and I was forced to kill him. I really admired him for his conviction but I was just wondering:

Did any of you guys romance Fenris and then side with the mages? And if so, what was his reaction?

I was a mage who romanced Fenris and sided with the mages. He didn't like it but agreed to help me. I was at 100% friendship with him at the time along with the romance, and I had given him his 2 gifts.

He fought in my team through to the end.

I do not necessariy disagree but still my point remains: seems like Mr. Gaider has a quite clear fondness for "troubled romance". The case of Morrigan is more extreme than Fenris, indeed. Fenris has that little of "good savage" archetype and a romance works in DA2 in the same way that sex works in the Epic of Gilgamesh with Enkidu: that is what makes him "civilized".

Morrigan on the other hand is more of a case of "deconstruction": the romance litarly demolishes all her foundations and her answer is part agressive, part denial, part evassion to other topics.

I sided with the mages. I can´t remember his words exactly but he stayed with me, no killing. Friendship romance.

I'll have to do that sometime. Loved his reaction and his solid stance against me on my first play through so eager to see the alternatives.

Ha! Probably.

The original plan was actually to have Fenris shirtless all the time. I would have been okay with that, even if it did kind of make him look like he just came out of Lord of the Flies.
