Hello.

I am unable to adjust anything in character creation, other than the presets.

I can change name, import from Origins, I can change preset.

I can no touch her hair, her face shape, eyes, nothing under the preset in that section..

When do I get to change her hair? Her eye color and etc? Is this a bug? I did run the demo and uninstalled it.

Thanks.

I would suggest starting by updating your video and sound drivers and DirectX.

1.My drivers are fine. 2. What does video driver have to do with sound not working? It also did not work in the demo.. Read the 100's of posts who also had this same problem. 3. Instead of giving knee jerk answer.. -rme- Please don't post if you don't have any actual help for me. My direct X was also new and installed with the Demo.. Which was also not working even though demo claimed to be installing it, did not and I did so manually from their site.

1. Without any other indication than your say-so, that statement is doubtful.
2. Since you are unaware of the extent of what drivers are all about, obviously your comment has no validity.
3. Given that you do not want assistance after all, why post anything here?

EA handles the official support, nobody here is doing that. Go and be rude to them, instead.

There are 2-3 hawk male/female presets you can't change by default. The others are free to customize

User Error?

As Lacan82 mentioned, you cannot change all the options with a couple of the "Preset" character options.

Also, I too tend to cringe when I see statements such as "1.My drivers are fine." How do you know? What troubleshooting have you done to test this hypothesis? Just because you just installed them doesn't even mean they are fine.

Lacan82 : Thanks!

Kyitty Because I'm one of those paranoids who need to scan every single day with several programs, and Update from Nvidia as often as they release anything. I'm not willing to use a beta driver due to the whole mishap of the driver that stopped peoples computer fans from working... A while back. I did however have scratchy sound with Mass Effect 2. It does not last the entire time but a lot of the time.. Sadly my sound card has not had new drivers since 2007! I won the sound card in a modding contest. Perhaps its time for shelling out new bucks for a new card.

That I had this same sound (scratchy) with Mass Effect 2 and both these games are from the same company, yet I have no issues with sound otherwise at all.. Also in the demo myself and hundreds of others could not hear their voices without forcing sterio sound which I understood to be for headphone use.. It's worth saying that the scratchy did not appear until I forced sterio sound so.. I'm at a loss..

I would think Nvidia would not deliberately release faulty drivers. When they did they immediatly rectified it. I'm not sure why it's necessary to assume that my drivers are at fault when this has happened to me with other Bioware games.

The game runs fine otherwise.. No issues and no crashes.. Only the one thing now.. Sound.

The first four(?) character faces are presets that cannot be changed. Choose another default character after those, and you'll be able to change everything about them, from skin color to hairdo and everything in between.

Thank you -s-

As for the sound crackling.
I followed these instructions instead of bringing from high to low I pushed the slider from low to high. No idea why it was low..-shrugs-

===============

Config and clicked on Sound; On the bottom right I clicked on "Configure sound devices" a window came up, in the Volume Tab I clicked on the Advanced settings button for Speaker Settings, clicked on the Performance Tab and Set the "Hardware acceleration" Slider from full to none and applied the settings.

=========================

found in this forum for Mass Effect since I had the same crackling sound with it.
http://social.biowar.../index/825987/1

I had zero incidents of bad sound today after fixing that setting which was for some reason wrongly set way too low.
