I'd like to see more of Charade, she's an interesting character who we barely got to know. also her being around gives more potential for Gamlen's character to be developed more. despite how annoying Gamlen was at first, and can be throughout, there are times we see glimpses of a better man underneath, Charade being instrumental in one of those times

Charade, to me, sounds more like the name of a demon. I half expected to learn she was one, having possessed somebody or other. Every other spirit and demon seems to be named after some kind of take on sins or virtues. Charade is just another way to say 'lie' after all.

I'm pretty sure it's a nickname, likely based on her obvious liking of riddles and treasure hunts, and the fact that being a rogue and given her connections she's probably a theif and/or con-artist

Thanks for clarifying. Did you get this information from the game or from another source? I remember the "Band of Three" discovering that the city itself was shaped as some magical glyph in order to sacrafice large numbers of people, but I don't recall them coming to the conclusion that the Tevinters were trying to create a portal to hell.

The slave sacrifices were more for thinning the veil and building up the absolutely gigantic reservoirs of blood that are apparantly below the city. The city being shaped like a glyph is just another part of the equation.

They may not have necessarily been trying to create a hellmouth, it's just a side-effect of whatever it is they were trying to do down there. But it wasn't pretty, whatever the research was.

But how do you know that this hell gate is a side-effect? What in the game mentions a hell gate at all?
