I played Dragon Age 2 and became deeply digusted on how homosexuals were labeled in this game, I have plenty of gay friends and none of them have ever attempted to make moves on me, the gay stereotyping in this game is like making every hispanic person in a game to be evil and violent, it's wrong and I believe that David Gaider needs to be fired for this.

Maybe you're just too ugly to hit on?

You can't blame poor David for that!

Your 'friends' probably won`t make a move on you, because you are ugly to them, and not their type.

But how is the game suppose to merit your attractivness - lets make a full body edits, and the bigger the breast the better the Sex Appeal stat right? If you cannot get something into numbers, the computer won`t be able to handle it.

In my opinion Gaider did a good job, i very much like it, and there is nothing as bad about the game as some people on this forum are dropping. The only really bad thing that cannot be over-sighted are reused areas.

what? this can't be serious...

what's wrong with you, people? what makes you think that you can come here and be rude for the sake of being rude? and don't pullt that "freedom of speech" thing as defense

I'm really tired of reading stuff against the writers or the lead designer, they are working very hard on stuff you might like or might dislike but that's not excuse to attack them.

why do you bother?

Gee, this is the second thread calling for Gaider's release from Bioware I've seen on the front page - for the same reason ... I imagine I'd be more impressed if you hadn't just joined the forum yesterday. (not to stereotype people who join the forum under multiple accounts just to push their personal agenda, mind you)

Yes, let's attack BioWare employees. Now to figure out who decided this was a good idea to begin with. I will also proceed to giggle at the petition.

So you're saying that gays cannot be civilized and intelligent beings?

You believe that gays are nothing but sex hounds that make their moves on every living thing and cannot focus on anything?

Your parents must have raised you poorly with such ignorance.

I'm also posting this to gay organizations, so they can see this too.

If it would make you happy I could post the thread, though whilst I don't agree with the "fire gaider" part of it, I must say I find the fact that every single character in that game comes on so strong a bit unbearable.  Not even the gays I some how managed to make it with Merrill even though she was full rival and I only flirted once by accident(oh well) next thing I know I'm in the sack.  Let's just hope this is a wake up call to tone down the character and their quest for your penor.

No.

David Gaider, quite simply, is one of the best writers in Video Game production. You can look at KotOR and DA:O as ample evidence of this.

Did I like the story in Dragon Age 2? No. I felt that there was little to no immersion, that nothing I did mattered, and that in the end I would have prefered to spend those 39 hours getting a quarter of the way through another Dragon Age Origins playthrough, and that the characters were either too forceful and thus felt fake, or were unremarkable and forgetable.

Overwhelmingly, I feel that while it was nice that Bioware wanted to try and innovate, they should have done so with a new IP, rather than build up multiple entire new systems in an already established IP on such a short development cycle. I feel that if they had perhaps sped up the combat a tad, fixed some of the bugs we found in origins (mostly soundfiles in my own experience) and brought back the old Companion Dialogue system we witnessed in DA:O, Dragon Age 2 would have been a huge success with a certainly smaller fan backlash.

But I have faith in David Gaider, and his writing. I will continue to play Games and read stories that I know he is involved in, because when he is given the time to truly make something, it is wonderful to immerse yourself into and you feel like you really are adventuring across Ferelden stopping the Blight, or rising to the occasion against the Sith only to discover that you are fighting what you once created..

And really? You think that because there were all bi-sexual characters and that the romances came off as forced (necessary due to time Jumps) that a man who has done all that I stated above should be fired? :pinched:

I seriously don't get this outrage. I am a lesbian (at least with my main character) and naturally Fenris and Anders flirted with me. I was not interested and did the videogame equivalent of smile and proceed with the conversation ignoring the fact that they hit on me because it was not important to me. If you did not want want to except a gay Anders/Fenris proposal, just ignore it and go on with the game. You would think this was like some romance visual novel with the way you all rant over these romances.

If you believe that David Gaider is one of the best writers for such a terrible written game with stereotypical homosexual characters, you're either him or being paid to say this, which is sad because I've seen Bioware staff create fake reviews to praise this game, when it's extremely bad.

I don't know whether they should fire him or not but he has admitted that he likes the "romance" of the Twilight books & that is a leading sign of mental instability.

Really..... Ok then.

I hated Dragon Age 2. I will proudly say that. Any review that you read by me on these forums will be paragraphs stating that. I have four good sentences to say about the game.

But I do not blame David Gaider for the writing. He is the Lead on a team of writers. Not only that, they had a short development cycle. And again, I look at his work in DA:O and KotOR, and know that while DA2 was certainly a miss for me, he can and has produced stories that I truly loved.

That being said, after the marketing hype that contained blatant lies about what I could expect in this game, I wouldnt want to work for Bioware. I'll play their golden age games, but after DA2 I am at a point of "buyer beware"

And honestly, Anders and Isabela were the two characters I found made the most advances/sexual come ons. That being said, with Anders I would just select one of the non Heart options, and that was the end of it. It was very simple to get past it.

You've played through the game, right? Anders is a needy guy who clings to the first person he tells his story to; you get rivalry because just like any other mostly human being he doesn't like being rejected. It has nothing to do with stereotyping.

...Oh, is this a troll post? I'll be quiet then :D

He didn't say that. I understand he is curious about how the Twilight romance works.

No, he said he thought that the "romance" was well written. If the forums had a search option I'd find it & post it
