If by fired you mean put to death by a firing squad then yes I agree. Simply removing them from their jobs do to massive failure isnt enough.

Are you stupid. Seriously?

If and I say IF you are a homosexual, you've certainly been hit on by another gay man who you have turned down. And guess what. In general they are indeed not to happy with that.

And firing David Gaider for one line of dialogue? (Only Anders hits on you, once) COME ON.

And don't spam the forums with double accounts. It's gonna get both of them banned.

Yeah, right, gay people will be just appalled at this game. The depictions of meaningful, loving homosexual relations will really get up their jaxy! That's the thing they hate the most, it's like their kryptonite!

Bioware should hire you instead!

I agree, but not for that retarded reason in the Opening post, he can't write for shiz, that or he doesn't give a damn. Both are worth sacking him.

I believe some people need to be cut loose. Mike Laidlaw for orchestrating this disaster and David Gaider for one of the worst least engaging storylines I've ever seen.

I played Dragon Age 2 and became deeply digusted on how homosexuals were labeled in this game, I have plenty of gay friends and none of them have ever attempted to make moves on me, the gay stereotyping in this game is like making every hispanic person in a game to be evil and violent, it's wrong and I believe that David Gaider needs to be fired for this.

http://www.petitions...FireDavidGaider

I strongly suggest you start reading books or something, so that you actually have the qualifications to assess David's writing talent or your perceived lack thereof.

And, you know, there's this shocking thing in the world, where people, labels aside, flirt with people they like. Isn't that amazing? I get hit on by "the gays" a lot. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/andy.png[/smilie] My experience seems to be very different from yours. Could that possibly be because you don't know how the *entire* world works? It could be.

You know, in Bioware games you can approach situations like a psycho. For example, shoot people because they don't write according to your personal preference. But oh no, wait, this is a real life person you're talking about. So maybe you should take a direct flight back to reality and become aware that you're out of line and then some.

Someone please close this inane thread. Criticism is okay, but if it can't be done without insulting, borderline psychotic comments then don't do it at all.

Admirable defence .

It shouldn't be lost on the fans that Gaider has written into the game his own sexual frustrations.

You do all realise that David Gaider is gay don't you ?

Good for him, but if the game is all about a gay man's sexual frustration, then where did Isabela come from?

And, even if any of that were true, it wouldn't make the writing any worse or the game less enjoyable ... at least not to thinking, reasoning people.

Exactly.  You know, I saw this on N4G and created this account purely to respond to this drivel (though I've been a Bioware fan for a long time, so this is definitely overdue).

Is the OP even gay himself?  What gives him the right to preach from his pulpit about a sensitivity to gay issues?  As a gay man myself - married (for 1 year) and committed for over 5 - I find the mere inclusion of homosexual characters and relationship options progressive and refreshing on almost every front.  I live in a major metropolitan area, and guess what, men and women DO hit on each other; across the sexual spectrums.  What specificially is the OP refering to that he found so offensive?  I don't recall any dialog of the sort.  The initial conversation with Anders?  Well yeah, if you rebuke the advances of someone who finds you appealing, I imagine that in real-life - as well as digital - they would probably be a bit hurt or put off (hence the rivalry).

There are a lot of niggling issues I have with DA:2, but the characterizations and relationships are definitely the highpoint for me.  Even the "sex scene" was PG and tastefully done, more about acceptance and love than rocking the headboard.

So, if you read these posts David/ Bioware/ EA.  Keep doing what you're doing!  (But maybe trim out some of the repeated areas next time :) ) Its progressive, bold and appreciated by at least one (and others, clearly, from the looks of it) gay man out there.

Sincerely,
-C

P.S. I'll be watching this thread in case anyone wants to make a counter-petition to this buffoonery.
P.S.S. OP you sound like you're angry with the design decision of the game more than this issue. In fact you just sound angry (as many random internet people do).  If you hate the game that much, trade it in.  Don't becry political incorrectness toward one of the ONLY games in existence that portrays loving, gay relationships. It makes you look dense.

Real mature OP, real mature. Next time you mess up this one time at your work or do something I don't agree with I'll come there screaming with a pitchfork and a torch for you being fired. Again: Real mature.

Can anybody else not wait for the release of ME2 or TW2 for the sole reason that most of the trolls and haters will go to the forums of this games then and it will be possible to read this forum again without loosing every respect for humankind ?

It's good to see the homosexual community starting to stand up against the exploitation of their sexual orientation, for money, by corporate America(?).

if the lead writer is gay he's sold out to exploit homosexuality for ea/bioware, didn't he?

I do count myself to the group of people that were very disappointed with DA2 (for mostly the same reasons as has already been discussed on these forums) but I think David Gaider is a very talented writer and would be sad to see him go.

As for the OP, I really don't see your point.

He should be sacked for losing the plot of DA and turning an EPIC-WINNING rpg game into a duurrr, weak, washed down, dull, boring, naff , less-to-do, nowhere-to-go , meh was-once-great franchise.
Lets face it, as soon as the dev pics arrived the whole community was up in arms in an attempt to U turn this disatrous direction the game was taking.
No one listened, we got face palmed with Witch Turd Hunt, and thwey gave us a take it or leave it GTFO.
why am i here, i dunno, because i loved origins so much, had hoped for an epic winning dlc with witch hunt, and disillusioned by a dull demo, coming here to see what the feedback is on DA2,it isnt looking good is it.
I'll wait till theyre selling this offalling on steam in a -75% midweel madness.

No, all we need is to hit Mike Laidlaw over the head with a few pounds of sense then go off and bomb EA.
