I'm trying the following behaviour for dead creatures:
- They leave a lootable corpse
- After a delay, the corpse fades away, and leaves a lootbag
If I set the corpse to lootable, it never fades away (unless completely looted). If I set it to not lootable, I get the desired behaviour, except for that I can only loot it after the delay. Is there some clever combination of some checkboxes to get this behaviour, or do I need an ugly hack in the onDeath script?

you'd need to ugly hack things.

Use the Decays variable instead, with decay time set. Set lootable corpse to false, set Decays to true, and then type in the time you want it to take to fade away in milliseconds in the Decay time slot.

Thanks for the answers.
Lugaid, I tried that, but then I cannot loot the corpse until the decay time passed. But I'll check it out again this evening, maybe I did something else wrong.

It's been awhile since I've played with the settings, but I think setting Lootable corpse to true will make all corpses selectable, even those without loot.
If all your guys have loot, I guess that's not a problem. I've also got No Permanent death set to true on my creatures, and resurrectable set to false. I'll have another look at things later, but my current project, and LotD has things set up the way you want.

You may want to try the NESS spawn system. With it you would just set lootable corpse to FALSE, and then set NESS to handle them. It is actually a very usefull system and handles much much more than just spawning and corpse delay.

Lugaid, I think I had the settings as you suggested and it used to work, but I recently realized that it doesn't work any longer - creatures decay only if they have no loot. I'll look in the patch notes if I find something, and postpone this problem. For now, I can live with corpses that do not decay.
