Has anyone tried them? How are they different from friend? Can you possibly do the deed with Sebastian as a rival if he leaves the chantry?

There are romance scenes in youtube, you should check them out. The Merrill romance is very sweet in rival mode, even better than the friend romance =)

Indeed I'd argue the rival Merrill-mance is significantly better than the friendship one.

You can rival-mance Sebastian. I don't think he makes whole "chaste marriage" thing explicit in that case, but there's no actual sex scene either.

I'm trying Male Mage Hawke rivalmance Fenris on my third run. I heart it's really fun. I wonder what Fenris would think, it probably felt like his old master Danarius all over again....LOL.
