Does anyone know how to turn these off?? In ME you could, but not in DAII... Argh, they are hideous and annoying.. Also, they don't seem to be there during dialogue/cutscenes.. or at least they're smooth.

I'd like to see if anyone has found a solution to this issue as well. I haven't played the game for a week or two now (had one complete play through) and won't consider another until some of the issues are fixed.

This really sounds like a driver issue. Have you tried other graphic drivers? Sometimes the newest release isn't the best available.

I assume you're talking about the hairy looking shadows on Bethany's neck below?

As far as I know... they cannot be turned off... although I haven't played with the *.ini files yet. And yes, they're annoying, since they tend to flutter around like some sort of critter. The effect is much less on High or V high using DX11, but I decided to stick with DX9 for my first play-through to maximize frame rate (even though I'm using two GTS450's in SLI).
I agree with SicoWolf... it's how the graphics card is processing the image, but I suspect the ultimate solution is software-based. Bumping up transparency AA helped a little, but not much. Hopefully the forthcoming patch, which is said to be substantial, will address some performance issues.

Like I said, I have an Nvidia card, and I am using the latest driver. I do think there's a beta driver out there for ATI that supposedly has fixes for DA2?

@RaenImrahl - yes that's it. BUT the self shadows look perfectly smooth in dialogue/cutscenes... :/

So what drivers are the rest of you using then? I don't want to change mine, because apart from the choppy shadows, and the artifacting I get, the game runs really fast on my machine...

I am using the 267.59 drivers, two GTS450's in SLI, DX9 rendering... got the results above.
I suggesting waiting until the next patch or next Nvidia driver update to see what, if anything, improves.
