If there is one thing Mass Effect and Dragon Age fans know, it’s that
BioWare loves to make DLC. While unimportant details like date, price
and size have yet to be detailed, BioWare has dropped a few hints as to
what we can expect from the upcoming Dragon Age II DLC treasure trove.
Read on to find out what’s in the works!
I’ve broken what I feel were the most juicy parts of the press
release down into bullet points (love’em) with a quick summation of why
each is important.
- User Created Quests! – Now players can use the
environments from the majority of DA2′s side quests to create their own
one of a kind quests and battles. Now you can choose which doors in the
mansion(s) are locked, at what point the giant spiders will attack you
in the caves and how many archers will be sitting on that hard to get to
cliff that you have to run all the way around to get to. Five locations
and 6 enemy types…the possibilities are endless! - More Carver Quests! – The younger Hawke brother is
getting his own DLC quest pack expanding upon what is probably the
greatest, and deepest, BioWare character to date. Now players will have
the opportunity to interact with Carver more before the main events of
DA2 take place. Watch Carver cry over his lack of powers or make him
some chicken noodle soup. Fight him for your mothers love or hug-it-out.
The choice is yours. - New Romantic Character! – All we know about this new character is that he/she will be tri-sexual. Yep, you heard right, tri-sexual! Schwing!
- Expanded Equipment Options! – On top of a massive
amount of new overpowered and underpowered DLC armor for Hawke, a new
option is being made available for companion equipment as well. If you
thought collecting armor upgrades was fun, just wait until you get a
chance to search the world for dye packs so that you can change the
colors of your companions armor and weapons. No new armor for
companions, but who cares? I get to customize how my party looks! Joker
purple battle armor! Holla! - No New Dragons Boss Battles? – There will not be
any new Dragon Bosses to fight in any of the DLC since they went
overboard with the Dragon fights in the main game. I know one was too
many for me. - Fight Your Companions! – A new in-game option will
give the players the ability to attack and permanently kill a companion
(Carver…you are no brother of mine!) as long as the right dialogue
options are chosen. Depending on your choices, you can even have two
companions fight each other. Anders and Sebastian fighting to decide
once and for all who is the biggest hypocrite? Epic! - Sandal – Everyone’s favorite enchanter will become a
playable companion and allow players to not only enchant on the go, but
also drop a whole lot of “Boom!” on their enemies. “Enchantment?”
Indeed. - New Dialogue Options For Isabella – Should a player
pursue a romantic relationship with Isabella, new dialogue options will
allow you to challenge her and decide, once and for all, who the most
promiscuous, STD riddled fun house in Kirkwall really is! - More Blood Mage/Demon Fights! – Apparently all of
the new DLC will feature fights with Blood Mages. Only this time the
super powerful, spell casting, wipe out your whole party in moments
Blood Mages will turn into slow, melee only Demons even faster! No
pretense about not being Blood Mages, we all know the truth, just
straight up tank and slaughter goodness.
like BioWare is taking what was great about the core game and making it
even better!
Oreo.
