Then again, I did want Kreia to be romanceable, too. Cougar mentors, ftw!

If you play anything other than a mage, Alistair refers to her as his "favoritest" mage
Playing a mage and romancing Alistair, he refers to her as his second-favorite mage

No big surprise, I'm sure, but I really loved having Wynne as a member of my PC's 'surrogate' family. When her character profile and video first showed on the DAO web-site I knew she was going to be a permanant addition to my Heroic character. From the get go she struck me as the Obi-Wan Kenobi to my Luke. The whole relationship with her really meshed for me story-wise as I was playing the Human Noble and (SPOILER!!!) seeing as you loose your family, Wynne takes the places of Bryce and Elenor Cousland quickly, much as Obi-Wan took the places of Owen and Beru.
I must share the admiration towards Sheryl Chee in the writing of Wynne, proving you could have a mentor in the game that was not a copy of 'every' old mentor type depicted in fantasy epics since The Hobbit. Wynne's story is strong, beautiful, sad, and engaging on every level. I truly find myself hesitant to play the dark Hero character since I know there will be no room for her, and I can not imagine the game without her.
On a side note, there were some moments I found myself drawn to Wynne in a romantic capacity. I suppose it had something to do with being drawn to someone who had my well being in mind at all times and was not so wrapped up in their own baggage that they could not stop for five seconds and ask my character, "I know you lost your entire family, how are you doing?" I mean, the only other person who does ask that is bloody Alistair. (Laugh) I suppose the fact that, like Zevran mentions, Wynne is doing very well figure wise for her age might be a contributing factor as well. Regardless, given the interesting directions Mr. Gaider and other writers went with the game and it's characters, I would not have been all that surprised to eventually get a conversation option from Wynne along the lines of, "It looks to be a very cold night, would you like me to share your tent with you?" Although, that would have been a little weird....

Her party banter is also amusing for the most part - with Shale and Alistair in particular.

She's Dragon Age Origins on Cheat Mode. Hehe. You have to WORK HARD to die with her in the party below Nightmare Difficulty.
Killing her in the Mage's Tower is like entering a championship boxing match and just before the fight starts, sawing your right leg off.

I dunno, when it comes to mentor companions in RPG's, Wynne absolutely cannot touch Kreia from KOTOR 2. Not even close.

One thing about Wynne, though, is that she has a remarkably firm jawline for someone who speaks as though she is over 70. I'd like to know who her surgeon is.

I think the character is very well made. And I do appreciate having older companions in the group (even if she does have the body of a 20 year old

Not if you give her the Arcane Warrior specialization... Switch on Combat Magic and GTFO of her way LOL.wynne reinforces my belief that humans begin outliving their usefulness at age 45.
I very much enjoyed taking her out of those grandma robes and putting her into full-set black dragonbone armor. She instantly became the coolest old person outside of OT Darth Vader.
As for all the ppl wanting romance options with her... jesus why??! I assume you like her chara because she's so motherly/grandmotherly. Do you want to romance your mother/grandmother????!?!!1

She's like a mother to our characters, in so many ways; Healing, advice and her sacrifices to help...
(Her willingness to leave the safety of the circle, for one -- and the rest of you know the rest)

Thats understandable but he said he connects with her character , like they have stuff in common
I connect well with old people.
Because I'm interested in newer history (the past 100 years), and like to talk about the political and social developments in western society... things that most people my age don't care about before they're old geezers themselves.
