What the title says. For a European gamer it's not very fun l to be active on these forums during daytime over here (or during your American nights). The amount of trolling, spam and offensive posts is stagering.
Reporting all these posts and threads takes to long. I have been reporting some of them but by the time EA support has taken a look, the damage is done.
The only ones with the power to stop trolls and spammers are the mods. And quite frankly, there just aren't enough active during these hours. I'm not saying the mods are doing a bad job, far frome. When there are plenty active, these forums are quite pleasent. So it might be time to search for some European mods who could keep this place in check.

Suggestion: Bioware SocialNetwork needs more European mods.

Sounds like a good idea.

The BioWare Social Network could do with more moderators. Moderators who are committed to being fair in spite of reading posts that they personally disagree with. Moderators who can handle being personally insulted on a daily basis because they've moderated someone who didn't appreciate it. Moderators who can handle being treated differently simply because there's a big "Moderator" tag under their name, thus the freedom they once felt to act like a regular forumite seemingly doesn't exist. Moderators who can handle a trolling attack without mentally snapping after handling their 20th troll post in the space of half an hour. And, finally, moderators who will do this on a volunteer basis.
Finding such moderators is apparently harder than one might expect.

What would one have to do to qualify for moderator?
I'm quite interested in this.

I do know that I was an active member of the Mass Effect forums, participating in or starting many threads about the ME universe and game strategy. From there, I managed to be inoffensive to others and helpful when possible. I probably managed to demonstrate my composure didn't crack easily when faced with adversity. Most of all, I often reported problem situations to the moderators via PM, demonstrating that proper moderation of the forums was of interest to me. Then I was asked if I wanted to be a moderator. They promised me beer, but then when I joined, they told me I had to buy it for everyone else.

I can understand quite well how you moderators feel, I did that for almost 5 years on the forum of a big German Star Wars newssite.
No matter how often you tell people your just a user who moderates and not an admin, it just won't be the same as before. Mods are needed for forums to work and I highly respect those who invest their time to make sure these forums don't end up being an ugly mess.
Keep it up!
