I find he's quite an endearing character once you get to know him a little better. The romance was really well done too, imo. While I liked Alistair, that romance was so sweet it made my teeth hurt. Also very well done, but I personally lost interest in it rather fast.

Of course, I'm also biased towards the accent

There's even an LJ community devoted to Al, but nothing for Zev I've found that isn't totally slash.

I happen to like Zevran as a character, and while his voice actor is good, I really just don't like the accent at all. At first it turned me off of pursuing dialog with him completely, but I got over that and began listening to his stories. He's actually a very charming and interesting character, and I ended up playing through the romance options without even meaning to, since the witty banter felt very natural. Getting to sleep with him is quite easy, getting him to care for your character is another matter and I rather enjoyed that chase!



And while it felt a little bit like betraying Alistair, who I utterly adore, I still enjoyed Zevran.

I kindda figured it may have something to do with how late in the game the Zev romance develops, compared to how early you can get involved with Alistair >_>

True. I personally find it kind of annoying that you have to get that far into the game before he's introduced....but then I also like HOW he's introduced, so....I guess i can live with it.

Zev rocks. It's like having a particularly flirtatious Inigo Montoya around; also he's not as psychopathic as he initially seems, much of it is due to his upbringing.

I started a Zev. love topic on the other board. I think it only made it to 2  pages. It was titled, "Zevran, you sneaky rogue, you." It was a topic on how he snuck into my heart.

I should've titled it more appropriately, "I love Zevran! Come join me in my love.":D

I think Zevran was amazing, my male character was soooo close to taking that "massage". He really is fun to talk to, and his stories are even better than Lelliana's. As for the betrayal it doesn't have to happen, I ended the game with him still at my side. Of course he had a pretty high approval rating.

I liked Zevran until something happened in game that just turned me right off on the character!

I figured early he was the gay character so made sure I didnt follow any of those lines and was clear about freindship only. Figured that would be the smart way to go so you could eventually advance the character with out all the gay nonsence I can do with out in games.

So im at camp and I kiss Lelianna and suddenly I see flashed on my screen "Zevran disapproves -3". Welp I had zero use for the character after that!
Bioware wants to put in the gay options, fine. But dont rub my face in it like that! That was just not cool and really ruined all interest I had in that character!
Frankly I was kinda glad when he betrayed me and I got to kill him for good.

BTW: I can understand girls likeing his character though! Up till the gay garbage, I thought he was cool as well. BW deffinately over steped on this bit though

Make me remember of something similar with Alistair : they made a bet on Morrigan. Zevran had to make her "blush" and he did! Of course Alistair lost the debt and Morrigan was pissed at them, lol!

I like Zev he will probably be my female love interest.

Alistair is too sweet for his own good.

Edit: I didn't even know he could betray you.  He stuck with me when the Crows attacked.

Hes pretty likable, admittedly the constant bragging of conquests would be annoying if didn't seem like he didn't consider it bragging.

Back to Zev, he also has one of more level headed responses to the world around you when he is tagging along. At least for me he does.

I like Zevran a lot. I mean, the way he banters and jokes when you have him at your mercy is funny as hell, and shows a lot of character, imo. Anyone who can joke in the face of death is at least brave. And he can be loyal to you later on, it just depends how you've treated him. As for the romance, I didn't go deep into it, but he was certainly likeable enough, and his flirting is so deliberately over the top that I found it impossible to take offense.

I wish Zevran's character was written a little darker, but he did eventually grow on me.



I thought it was really cute when your relationship with Zev starts getting higher, and you ask him to your tent again. He freaks outs, refuses, and makes some hasty excuse about why he can't. Ahh, fear of intimacy.

I somehow fail to see how a disapproval from Zev constitutes 'rubbing your face' in this 'gay garbage'. I think you have your own issues that allowed you to read into things far more gravely than anything the game actually tried to imply. Relax a little.

LOL, thats so unfair, I dont think I got any bonus from Sten for bedding Morrigan or Lelianna.
I got a +2 from Wynne for telling Lelianna she was best thing that ever happened to me, but thats about it!
If anything the guys should get the major +s for sleeping around like I was doing (grins) cause we may not come out and say it, deep deep deep down, we all kinda respect the guys that get to do that!

I'll have to try those two when I do Ft. Dakkon again... The first game I used Morrigan n Zevran cause of the ring that she says she can find me with, which wasn't very funny.  With Oghren it sounds more comical lol.  Def be tryin those 2
