I 'normal' person doesn't want to spend 150 hours on a single game.

Can anyone even name an rpg with 150 hours of gameplay? Grinding games and mmorpgs don't count.

Persona IV, assuming you want the True Ending. Have to play the whole thing through twice to get it.

150 hours? Lol, that's one hell of a stretch. Don't get your hopes up.

I have around 80 on ME2, and that's plenty enough content for me.

Wow really? For me with an import Shep on insanity with all DLC/N7 mission and other side missions (excluding arrival) its about 36h 43mins).

150 hours? Thats what I probably logged going from lvl 1 to 80 when I played WoW before Cata. I think around 30-35 (without DLC) will probably happen and I bet majority of the hours will be spent talking/exploring rather than actual game play.

A game that lasts forever ends up being tiresome. I'd rather have a really good story. You only get that many hours by stretching artificially the story and stuffing in a lot of mindless generic dungeons extra.

If they do it right, we will want to play the game many times. Wouldn't it be better a 35 hours long game that you want to play 4 times than a 150 hours long game that is so stretched out that by the time you beat it, you're so tired of it that you won't ever play it again?

I got about 40 hours on ME2, so that would be fine w/ me for ME3 too. A bit more would be nice, but quality over quantity.

Yep, the 40 hour length is a good goal to aim for I feel!  Llike Jamie, my first priority is quality over quantity!

WHAT? I know you are joking. but there are couple of epic RPG games. you can play more than 90 hours. Dragon age Origin, awakening, and the witcher 1, 2. but I don't think that ME 3 will be more than 50 hours. if the game will go 150 hours, you will be died by exhausting. nowdays, I have played assassin's creed brotherhood PC version. I didn't even finish yet. so far I spent about 25 hours (single story mode). I feel so tired physically.

150 hours? setting your bar a little high, arent you. That would require at least 6 years of development time and 7 dvd,s

I would simply be content with 40-80 hours of gameplay content. (not including DLC) Honestly anything below 40 hours would worry me a bit. I do find in absolutely absurd to have 150 hours as your personal standard. If you do, then be ready to be disappointed right NOW.

150 hours doesn't scare me but it would only work out if you have a great story to tell and lots of good/great quality substance to fill that time. If a developer is making a game that long for the sake of do so, then they are insane.

You're asking for too much. Mass Effect 1 took around 25-30 hours (including side-mission) and Mass Effect 2 was probably twice that. 150 hours would probably lead to it being a 3 disc game (on 360 and PC).

I love how everyone is being serious here. Lighten up people, OP is just winding you all up. And he's doing a damn good job at it, lol.

no 150 hours!!! then I will capture the development team, lock them all up in my secret underground lair, and force them to make content for me to enjoy until the ending of their days.

It doesn't have to provide 150 hours per playthrough. That much time will inevitably lead to repetition and tedium.

If the difference between classes and decisions (I mean both ME3 decisions and decisions we carry over from prequels) are well executed, the game will be worth playing again and again without getting bored for long time, which is much better than 150 hr each time.

I don't really care how long a single run through of the game will be, because the game is designed so that I will play through it multiple times. I've clocked over 100 hours on ME1&2 because I've played them multiple times and will probably go back and play them again once ME3 comes out.

If you were to add up all my playthroughs of ME2, it'd probably equal well over 200 hours. But if ME3 ends up being 20 hour campaign of awesomeness and hi fidelity gaming, count me satisfied

Going by Bioware's new business strategy, you'll get 25 hours with 10 hours of dlc priced at $50 total.

150 hours might be a little extreme in my book. don't get me wrong, i'd still play it if it was that long. but i think something along the lines of the ~70 or so hours for a lot of DA2 playthroughs is sufficient enough.

Here's how they'll make it last longer.

You have to use the Mako AND Probe!
