My laptop:
- Windows XP SP3
- Intel Core2Duo T7300 @ 2.0 GHz
- 2GB RAM @ 2.0 GHz
- GeForce 8600M GT w/ 512MB
- 1280x800 (17" screen)
I'm guessing low settings, otherwise medium will cause massive slowdown when there's more than 10 enemies on screen (happens in Oblivion).
On the other hand, I play PS3 on a Pioneer PDP-LX5090 (50")...
Does the PS3 version of the game support mouse and keyboard use?

I hava *small* problem. Been waiting for DA:O for quite some time now and until a few hours ago i was going to get the Xbox360 version since i am unsure how my computer runs it. However it all changed when i read the Gamespot review. :S
Here are my computer specs:
AMD Phenom 8550 Triple Core. Windows Vista 64Bit.
6Gb Ram.
Ati Radeon HD 4650 1Gb Ram. ( Says something like up to 2Gb. Whatever that means. )
24´ Widescreen.
Since i´m not a computer genius and never will be, i kinda need to know how my computer will run DA:O. I´m more than willing to disable shadows and, but i need to
play at 1200x 720 reolution ´cus of my display. I´ m *not* thinking of going any higher since i know my comp wont be able to handle anything beyond 1200x720.
I guess it all comes down to this: with my currect spec, should i just get the Xbox version or am i able to get a a slightly better looking game with my current spec?
Thanks everyone!

Just got my hands on the ATI 5850! so impossible to find
However, DA runs surprisingly well on a 320MB 8800GTS on Very High settings @ 1920x1200 minus AA, with a couple frame stutters. The 5850 should be able to run it at a higher FPS and AA I hope.
The rest of my specs for reference is 4gb DDR2-800, e6750 (conroe) clocked at 3.2gHz. If you have a card equivalent to the older 8800GTS, you should be able to run it no problem at a lower resolution.

I'm assuming I'd be playing on low settings, which doesn't bother me as long as framerate is bearable. For any tech guys out there, would I be ok with the laptop version? Or should i stick with the 360 version?
Thanks.

p4
1GB Ram
WIN XP sp 3
GeForce 6600(not the GT version)
It runs smooth with low settings at 800 X 600. I am getting 30 fps. I am very happy with this. I bought the game for the 360 and am running through two different origins currently on each. I think with even the graphics turned down low they are comparable to the 360. The textures are better on the 360 but if I want to turn the settings up on my PC I do and it looks awesome(blows the 360 away and i have a low end graphics card). I just drop it back down again when I am ready to get into a fight.
The PC is definitely a more tactical experience and the XBOX feels more action oriented. I am having a blast between the two!

if you like better graphs stick wth XBOX360..otherwise on low PC config its not enjoyable

E3110 3.0Ghz Xeon
4GB DDR2
8800GT (not GTS)
XP SP3
Running at Max settings except AA 4X. I haven't played very much but the animations appear to be perfect so far. I noticed a few stutters in some cutscenes and conversations and the first two long cutscenes actually were screwed up in the beginning (voices overlapping and stuck screen) but then smoothed out and played fine after that. Not sure what's up with that but during active gameplay, it's very smooth. Load times are a little long between major events but I don't mind that.

As a side note, the ATI cards ending in 50's are usually downclocked chipsets from the next highest level... my X1650 Pro runs the game perfectly on Medium and can do all but the big battles on Medium-high. So, if you have the "50" version from ATI try stepping it up a notch or two and see what you get. *grins*
Interesting and incorrect datum proposed there! Check the chip codes at GPU Reviews!
Meanwhile, I think a bump might be in order.

You simply don't know what you have, which is merely an X1300 clone, and its name tells you that it's for business = "n300 / n400". The games cards start with "n600".ShadowStalker363 wrote...
I've got an ATI Mobility 1400x that meets the box system requirements but when i go to launch the game it says that the video card is not supported....any suggestions?
(FYI, no game developer offers any official tech support for any laptops)
The X1550 is also just an X1300, but desktop versions and laptop versions are 10-30% apart in performance, and Bioware was quite wrong to name that card as a useful minimum marker (it compares very poorly with the Geforce 7600 GT card). The correct minimim is the X1650 Pro, and here's the X1400 Mobility next to that minimum:

None offense meant, but you can see the system requirements on the net as well as if going to buy the game in a store.

This thread was created before the very first Social Forums forum had any siblings. There was no Tech Discussion forum then. There is one now, and although it probably should have a filter for owning / registering the game, it does not, so until it does, a thread such as this one is really not needed.Dragon Slasher wrote...
the game is awesome despite dated graphics. but why do i pull 120 fps in Modern Warfare (crappy shooter with super realistic graphics btw) during most intensive combat scenes and about 40 fps in Dragon Age's Denerim Market where there is almost nothing going on at all ?
For your own question, there probably is someone in the Tech forum who can answer, so why not ask it there?
