Ever got tired of Merril being this small "ugly duckling" with a weird face and a very short selection of clothing?

Ever wanted a real Dark Elf in the party?

Ever yearned for a less sultry and more gothic look for Isabela?

I know I have, thus this mod:

http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=2449

New Merril:

Image IPB

New Isabela:

Image IPB

Follow the instructions to not only change the faces of Merril and Isabela, but also turn Merril into a full-sized person and to allow them both to wear all appropriate armor/clothing.

Requires Bidelle's Cosmetics 2 and Thought Process' companion armor mod to function properly.

Oh dear...

What has been seen cannot be unseen.

Or in pic-language:

Still, that doesn't deny the fact that it has taken a fair amount of work. It's good work, but... well, you know...

Heh heh 8=)

It's even more amusing in-game - since Merril retains her "innocent" behaviour, voice and quirky gestures, but now looks really vicious, especially in the dark Champion armor raining havoc upon the enemy, she's like a Chaotic Evil Drow battlemage with a multiple personality disorder 8=))

And Isabela's constant innuendo takes on a new tone given her vampiric appearance 8=))

Little things like these keep me amused since DA2 is unfortunately rather more boring than DA:O.

We have Bidelle to thank for the "bleeding eyes" base skin, and BioWare for the undead base skin.

I'm not an artist, just a modder, using available resources to concoct something new and useable.

Hey, at least it's better than that etno-revisionist "Fair Skinned Isabela" mod.
I've been trying to vote that thing down for days, but some site error prevents me from doing it.
Mrmbl.

......what? Image IPB

Just because someone made a mod to change the skin tone of a computer game character, you call them "etno-revisionist"? And vote down their mod?

I've actually had a look at the mod in question. It has like over 10,000 downloads and 86 endorsements. It's one of the most appreciated DA2 mods. And yet the author recently posted a comment saying he won't be doing any more modding for a while, because he got fed up with all the hate mail he's been getting.

That is totally lame. And you played an active part in it. Not cool.

Active part?
Not at all, no. Like I said, I couldn't leave my response to the mod due to a site error.
At any rate, I wouldn't dream of sending hate mail. Neither would I accuse the creator of being racist. I pride myself with having some kind of common sense, thank you.
The mod itself, however, I find very problematic. Which is why I wished to leave a negative response. I recognise the work behind it, but I don't appreciate it. And if you upload your work to a website intended for public consumption, then you ought to be ready to deal with negative feedback.
Assuming it is constructive, of course. That anyone would take it so personal as to actually send hate mail is beyond me.

Either way, sorry for detracting from the actual topic.

Well, it's good you didn't send any hate mail. But still I think it's unfair to vote down (or try to vote down) that mod for the reason you stated. This is a computer fantasy game, it doesn't have anything to do with real life ethnicities, and bringing such "issues" up is a pointless and ultimately counterproductive exercise.

It's ok to vote down a mod that doesn't work, or breaks the game, or otherwise doesn't deliver what's promised. But if you simply don't like the idea of such a mod - then don't install it, end of story.

Also, I suggest you review the Nexus terms of service, in particular File and image database commenting and rating. FYI:

"The commenting, endorsement and rating system is available on Nexus sites to provide users with:
- an interface to offer positive feedback on the functionality of the file in question based on the author’s initial intentions
- the ability to offer constructive criticism on aspects of the file that could be improved
- the chance to ask for feature requests and discuss such requests with other users of the site or the author
- the ability to ask for help in troubleshooting problems with the file in question

If your comment does not fit in to the above criteria then do not post. If you disagree with the content of a file on the site then do not post. Simply ignore the file and move on."

Then why does the site offer the option to vote down with the following motivation?

"After playing the file it doesn't fit in to my personal tastes or beliefs, etc. "

At best, that's a direct contradiction.
And I would've thought it would be perfectly acceptable to dissent, assuming ones intention wasn't simply to attack the author. Trust that I did download the mod, and it confirmed the argument I intended to make.
Had I proceeded to comment, I would've been constructive rather than destructive in my criticism.
But I keep digressing. It's been a source of annoyance to me, but I won't lose sleep over the idea, especially now with all the commotion surrounding it.
And I am sorry that the creator has been somehow personally compromised because of it.

P.S
And again, sorry for going completely off-topic. It was originally just intended as a jokey response, but I felt obliged to make my account clear since you addressed it.

You have serious talent, But wtf did you do to merrill... She was so cute and cuddly :( I just want to nom her up. Now... AHHHHHH LOL.. She's a Dryad? If I remember correctly from BG lol

Edit - It appears i'm in love with Leliana, Is there any way to make one of your DA2 characters look like her? (perhaps isabelle - though the personality will ruin it a bit) haha xD

There is actually a Leliana morph available in vanilla DA2, it's called hf_leliana.mor. So you can edit your save game with pyGFF to put Leliana's face on Isabela, for instance.

There ya go:

I'd rather have Leliana's DA2 appearance in DAO.

UPDATE: The mod now also offers Dark Elf Fenris

All of a sudden, his brooding angst is anchored in darkly good looks and a reasonable height!

Enjoy! (or whatever).

Just open the save game (*.das file), and under PARTYLIST -> PARTYPOOLMEMBERS find Isabela. There, open the APPEARANCE line, and instead of "hf_isabela" enter "hf_leliana", save the change, save the file (overwrite original savegame), load it in DA2 and presto - you've got Leliana back.

Haha got it working, Thank you! I have a Leliana with a dark body and light head hahaha xD, Is there a way to give her Leliana's proper body from DA2? Armor n'all ?
