NOTE; THERE ARE SPOILERS FOR ACT 3 IN THIS THREAD, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED I SUGGEST YOU LEAVE

Whew, now that that's over, where do I begin? I still haven't finished Act 3, but I'm getting more and more pissed off. Act 2 was GREAT, not good, but GREAT, I loved it. Then Act 3, even barring the fact that most of it was unneccesary and that it could have been tied up faster, there's the glitches. MAJOR GLITCHES. Story glitches too. Here are just some off the top of my head;

Merill's conversation (BioWare spoiled their own game lol)
Leliana (Barely any mention of the Warden who was her LI)
Nathaniel and the Architect (I know %100 that I killed the Architect in Awakening but he's alive in 2) way to retcon your own game

Yes, I mad.

Note; I have NOT finished the game yet, so please keep te spoilers to a minimum.

Yeah, bugs happens. It sucks but that's software development for ya. I'm a little more accepting of them being a developer and all.

So you accept it because it's BioWare?

In the middle of Act 3 development, EA came in and said the game's done.

Not just BioWare. Software in general. I'm not a game developer but pretty run of the mill software developer. Bugs will happen and they will get in the way.

Oh and auto-attack right? Instead of delaying the game we're going to release it half-finished and then patch everything.<_<

spoilers, highlight to see.

And told them "Don't forget to put the Harvester in! That was the point of Golem of Amgarak DLC!"

Yep, I think the auto attack bug is giving me troubles with setting up the tactics I want. I still enjoyed the game a lot. Developers have to walk a thin line between squashing bugs and delivering the product.

Merill's conversations in Act 3 are out of order. It's impossible to skip if you're on 360, not sure about the other platforms though.

Yes it's a shame when the marketing department's meddling becomes so obvious.

What I found kind of amusing is that the merill conversation bug actually kind of works if assume Merril has lost her mind in her quest to restore the mirror.

Start of Act 3 you walk into Merril's house

Merril Smahes the Mirror

Merril: You were right Hawke I should of done that long ago

Hawke: WTF what brought this on?

Halfway through Act 3 you return to Merril's house to see her staring at the now empty frame of the mirror

Merril: I don't understand why is the mirror not working? It doesn't even show my reflection! Hawke we need to go back to Mount Sundermount to see why the mirror won't work!

Hawke: uh.......

Why would Leliana rabble on about the Warden to a random person she meets?

Well leaving him and joining the Seekers isn't what it said in the epilogue of Origins. Neither is the fact that it was "a long time ago"

As long as they actually patch the game, I won't care. Until they do, it's a major problem. This game has too many obvious flaws to just look past. I mean hell, most of these glitches are obvious on people's first playthroughs. You're saying some game tester couldn't figure it out? Please.

And meanwhile the people that don't have access to LIVE or PSN are screwed.

That's really what it feels like.  I can't even play Act 3.  Did so once, and counted at least 5 major quest-related bugs.  Other stuff looked like it could definitely be bugged, but I didn't really know.  As it is I'm worried about having to redo Act 2 because "Fool's Gold" keeps showing up as avaliable when Nathaniel survived (albeit in an epilogue card).  Granted I've never done the quest, but it still worries me, especially when I ignore it and Finding Nathaniel still doesn't show up in Act 3.

I figure I'll try it again when they fix the Nathaniel (and Architect), Merrill, and Lelianna bugs.  That should be in what... 3 months? :pinched:

This has been true for years now, really.
Online access has become a conceit, where developers assume they can crap games out and fix it later with patches and DLC. Convenience becomes necessity.

I think Act 3 suffers from two problems, the first is following Act 2; which was very well done, the game could have just ended at this point IMO. The second is that it was a little two short and thus failed to fully develop the Mages vs Templars conflict. All though the for mentioned conflict is partially developed in acts 1 and 2 it gets overshadowed by the Quinary crisis at the end of act 2. I think time constraints are the culprit here, Bioware simply did not have the time to give act 3 the amount of work it needed in order to properly follow act 2.

The only thing that pissed me off in act 3 was being railroaded into the ending after completing the quest "Best served cold",
