I don't mind the characters shifting a bit from one players' game to another any more than I mind Hawke being different from one game to another.  My boyfriend's Hawke is kind-hearted gay female rogue, my Hawke is a snarky straight female mage.  Even story critical things like which sibling dies at the beginning are different for the two of us.  I don't feel that knowing that his Hawke exists diminsishes my experience or negates my own gaming choices.  Same is true for the companions, knowing that Fenris is gay in someone else's game doesn't make him any less straight and fun to romance in mine.

They DID used to say that being left-handed was a sign of the devil...  I know a lot of people who went to Catholic school and were forced to write with their right hands because left-handedness is an 'abomination.'  They don't do it as much anymore, but the concept has always amused me.

I don't understand why this is a big deal at all. Sexual orientation has NO EFFECT on the game whatsoever. Romance paths are all OPTIONAL, and pursuing them does not necessarily reflect your personal orientation.

Ignorance is dangerous folks. Lets learn to get past things like this, and not judge others based on something they cannot control.

I did...just a couple of min  ago after discovering the thread:innocent:

On subject well I don't understand why he cares, if you don't like it don't flirt with the guys and that is. Why would someone who doesn't want gay characters in the game even bother?

Also the rant is just "duh?" I am a straight male gamer as well, and I play straight or bisexual  characters mainly of either sex...is about choices and my mood when I decide  to create the character's personality to roleplay, is another choice such as Rogue\\Warrior\\Mage and Human\\Dwarf\\Elf or Male\\Female.

Straight Male Gamer must play Straight male character is boring mainly well...because there are over 9000 titles like that. Saying that is like saying that the game character must be 16-18 because rpg games traditionaly have had characters who are young and stuff...If I want my mage Warden to be 98 I will make him 98 and tell Wynnie to shut the **** up if I wish so.
