Just a heads up that I received a very nice note from Amazon a few moments ago (edit: in response to my refund request) letting me know that they are aware of all of the DA2 issues and that they are offering full refunds (provided it was bought and fulfilled by them) within the first 30 days, even if opened.

Given that EA/Bioware has offered no timelines on when a patch will be available, nor what the contents of the patch will be, I'm going to take advantage of this (as it appears others in the PS3 forum are doing).

Just a heads up (and a reminder, given that you're closing in on 3 weeks if you preordered like I did).

I don't hate the game (in fact, I really wanted to like it and finish it); just can't deal with all the bugs + freezing, and, most especially, the poor communication from EA/Bioware on the issue. I'll consider picking up a new copy if/when enough of the issues are addressed.

My thanks to those who answered my gameplay questions, shared their freezing et al experiences, etc.

edit: typo
edit2: clarified that I requested a refund; never claimed they proactively emailed all DA2 owners

That's...interesting.

Must just be for console versions since PC disks become coasters after registering.

Just like my worthless Half Life 2 disk Coaster next to my PC. I keep it there to remind me how much I hate steam.

Ironically the people who dislike DA2 are, largely, older classic RPG fans.

No.

The people that hate something are going to stick around more.

I think its a bit rude to say that. As I feel everyone has a legimate opinion and feeling of a video game. I think its okay for people to express their opinions.

I however, do not approve of someone insulting other people for not liking the game. We can all speak about what we think about a game.

I don't like when people only want to hear good things. You're simply only living in an echo chamber that way.

nope i did i enjoy the game, while others that are crying about thing sure it sounds immature granted i only went that way to show there level that they think the game is going in the wrong way and cry about sure there are problems but they can be fixed, but they wont give them a chance 17 days is not chance for them to fix bugs and make a dlc to show what happens after.

so yes i dont see any irony of my post

I expected the official forums to be censored to hell. I was surprised when I realized there were just as many people upset with the game here as on Gamefaqs.

Strange, i didn´t get a note from Amazon. And i seriously doubt they would refund an opened game just because some people don´t like it or there are a few bugs. ;)

That's the irony I was talking about.  Trying to play the "I'm older and mature" card and coming off as far more childish and petty than the people they are complaining about.

Older, classic, jaded, angry, bitter, and (put nicely) less than modest, classic RPG fans.

Go to the Help section via this link after logging in:
https://www.amazon.c...-questions.html

Click the "Choose a Different Order" button if your most recent purchase wasn't DA2 (I purchased mine back in Oct so had to go back 6 months to find it).

I chose the "Problem with an order", then "Defective" option for the reason.

Should be self explanatory from there. :)

edit: PM me this weekend if you have issues; won't be checking much after that.

I don't think I have ever come off that way. I know sometimes my own jokes go afar sometimes. However, I have made myself very clear in saying this game has left feeling on the fence. At some point there are aspects of the game that I enjoy, mostly surface stuff like combat. And at other levels I don't, mostly the in depth and story stuff.

I don't think my point has become invalidated. It isn't just that one sided. There are people on both sides lobbing fireballs. The people who like the game, such as yourself, come off as rude and insulting. And so do those who hate the game.

It isn't just one sided.

I -requested- the refund and they emailed me back; I will clarify the original post. They did -not- proactively email me; sorry if that wasn't clear.
