Speaking of loaning money, I wonder how ea stock is doing before and after da2 release. I doubt it changed much if at all, but would be curious to know what it is at now, and what it was then.

One might then make some educated guesses on Me3 and try and make some profit ;)

With games like Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2 recently released....yet, I bet EA is hurting bad........really.

Sorry, I just feels redundant.  You're going to return the game to Amazon until a patch is released to fix the game only to buy the game again? .... Why not just shelf the game and not play it until a patch is released..

But to each their own. :P

Fair fedback.

I'm just not confident (given the bugs they either missed or decided to ship with, as well as their post launch reaction to date) that they'll address enough of the issues that I've encountered such that I'll ultimately have an enjoyable playthrough.

I've attempted, several times, to get them to share with us what they intend to fix and in what timeline (caveated that the prod dev process is imperfect), but they are unwilling to do so, citing potential community backlash if they miss the date or contents. That's their perogative, but the result is that with ~11 days left, I have no idea what will be fixed and when. Unfortunately, as a working adult, I simply don't have unlimited gaming time and there are other games (and other forms of entertainment) competing for my time & money.

Given that I have a limited window (30 days) to return the product, my only option at this point is to return the product, hope they "do the right thing", and then repurchase it.

YMMV, etc, etc.

Ironically the people who dislike DA2 are, largely, older classic RPG fans.

I'm an older classic RPG fan, and I love DA2.  Keep your assumptions to yourself.

Personally I'd be avoiding making those sorts of statements like the plague itself. These forums are overwhelmed with bashing, trolling, and flaming at present, so if we assume necessary overlap between your posulated majority of disatisfied gamers and the majority of behaviour being witnessed... well, it doesn't say much for these "older classic RPG fans".

If you have to pay your own shipping, you may be better off just keeping it.  If they'll pay shipping for you (and refund whatever initial shipping you originally paid), it might be best to return it--assuming you don't have a preorder and/or don't mind losing all your preorder stuff.

Me, I haven't had any problems with the game.  Not even a single crash or game freeze with something like 100 hours put in, even using the High Texture Pack.  I had one major glitch--a combat refused to end so I couldn't escape from a dungeon--and the Known Issues about certain quests not triggering properly.  I actually had MORE problems with Origins, which crashes in Lothering and Haven every single time without fail.

They've already released one patch.  I'm sure there will be more soon.

When I was a pure commision service technician for (COMPANY) on the island of (PLACE) i warrantied my work for 30 days. If I didn't fix the problem or if I caused a different problem I returned and corrected my mistake FREE OF CHARGE. I was PURE COMMISSION. This means if I had to return to fix an error it was 100% at my expense. I did mainly commercial work at big hotels. Having to do free work was very hard on me for many reasons I am sure you can figure out.

I don't really accept anything less as an answer from people who take MY money.

EDIT: To Ariella ...

Dear Ma'am/Sir,

I would liek to offer a sincere apology to you. My anger is not for you, yet I allowed my feelings to obscur my judgement. I don't usually fly off the handle like that and it was wrong of me to do so. I could easily have had the same conversation with you and been nice to you about it. I really am sorry. Hot-button issue with me I guess.

I admit, I was tempted to buy dead space 2, but the price for the pc version drove me off. Its more reasonable now, but that desire died. Crysis 2, after da2, I decided to wait. Glad I did, auto aim? Really? Grr now you have given me a bad feeling about mass effect 3. *glares*

nope i did i enjoy the game, while others that are crying about thing sure it sounds immature granted i only went that way to show there level that they think the game is going in the wrong way and cry about sure there are problems but they can be fixed, but they wont give them a chance 17 days is not chance for them to fix bugs and make a dlc to show what happens after.

so yes i dont see any irony of my post

Lol you think the issues with the game are the bugs? The bugs are the least of the issues with DA2.

Amazon picks up the shipping on returns, and, I subscribe to their "prime" service, so I didn't pay (directly) for original delivery.

I'm -very- happy to hear you had a clean playthrough on the PC. A fair number of us PS3 gamers (at least based on the number of posts on the "Freezing" thread in the PS3 sub-forum) haven't been quite as fortunate.

I have -zero- doubts that they will eventually ship a x-platform patch given the reported issues. It's simply a question of what will be fixed and when. Given that I have a limited return window, and, they are choosing not to share patch timing & contents, well... :(

Dead space 2 = pure awesomeness.  Autoaim on Crysis 2?  Patch removed Autoaim.

Besides going back to your original question.  Since DA2 went mutiplatform i suspect it will surpass the numbers for DA:O.

EA is just fine. B)

Nice, not only are you pulling a fast one on amazon.com, but completly trying to screw Bioware / EA over in the same shot.. Very crafty I admit and also very deceitful ! So if indeed people chase after this idea , Amazon gets a flood of "defective" products and has to at some point report this to EA. EA looks into this run of defective products and at first has no answer for it. They in turn bring it to Bioware's attention that their product was either burned incorrectly in production or the code itself has a very major issue. Then Bioware investigates where this all started from and sees this post. Now ask yourself , what do you think is going to happen to you personally for this if it goes that far ?

I'll let that rattle around in your mind for a bit :)

i sincerely doubt that bioware or EA will actually look into any one specific return (it is most definitely not worth their time monetarily), and there will probably be zero discussion within the companies unless the number of returns grossly exceeds some pre-set marketing/business statistic for typical returns/defective products expected. even so, should they actually bother to investigate  a "flood" of returns, then good for them. they will learn about the dissatisfaction of these customers, and perhaps they will do something about it and not make the same mistakes in their next game. that is, again, assuming the number of returns are significant enough for bioware to take notice (which is unlikely).

it's ultimately up to the seller if they wish to accept such a return, if they do, they are not going to be hurt significantly, as they have made the business decision to pacify an upset customer, who may or may not continue on as a customer depending on this very decision. i don't feel sorry for them, they have the ability to say "no".

They give you a pretty good deal for it at the moment.

I bought my copy for 43euros and Gamestop gave me two psn cards (worth 20euros each) so that's not too bad. The price is definitely going to take a nosedive soon enough though.

I would never buy any games from Gamestop in any case, because over here the prices are way too high. 69euros for every release.

aww... i wish gamestop would make this deal. I like the game but this just sounds like i could have rented a bioware signature edition Dragon age 2 and got everything that came with it for free. Then whenever the game gets cheaper or they come out with an ultimate edition, if they still decide to make one, i can get all the dlc with what i've already downloaded for the same amount of money i've currently used to pay for my DA2. After beating the game my third time i could wait a year
