Again, anyone saying this DOES NOT know how to properly spec and utilize the rogue class. Period.

If your rogue is getting hit in combat, you're doing it wrong.

But Leliana got better with her final bard song. She just stands by Morrigan and acts like a shield with her song.

Learn how to play,  rogues with right skills do more dmg/kill  then any warrior and harder to kill em also... And btw dont use bows they s.ck...

 Possible spoiler inc??

I find rogues soo boring that I even permanently killed the elf rogue that supposedly joins your party after you beat him (chat options make you choose between letting him live, running away, joining your party or killing him,, i chose the last option).. yes I truly hate Dragon Age's rogues + elves.

Rogues are quite fun and useful in combat. My current group consists of two.

Yep I can totally see how someone would do that  if he is not playing a rogue himself, although I think Zhevran is quite hilarious.

Both are not that amazingly build for combat either, I am really really happy I rolled a rogue as my player character.
Rogues are very useful in combat by the way - you just have to utilize them properly ;-)

My PC is a Cunning-Dagger Rogue, and I take Leliana (and her archery) with me everywhere I go. She has the first 3 bard songs and I have the initial one, so my party always has both Song of Valor and Song of Courage going. I'll go Duelist next, and I'll make Leliana a Ranger for the summons.

My main is a Rogue/Bard/Assassin for my first playthrough.  He is awesome.  You need to L2P, sunshine.

My rogue was a beast: assassin/duelist spec, Full DW tree, full stealth, no lethality. High STR and DEX with just enough CUN to max coercion. Used Starfang and Aodh. I wasn't worried about lockpicking as its all crap anyway.  This was by no means an optimal build, yet he still destroyed everything.

Halfway thru i respecced him to Archery: Full Archery tree, full stealth, no lethality. 20 STR, 26 CUN, everything else DEX and WIL/CON. I doubt his damage output was any higher than DW but it seemed effective enough for what it was.

WTB a parser.

Why do you need a parser?  So you can bang one out every time you beat Alistair during a fight?

I find that rogues are fun enough to play as the MC, but Zev or Lelianna are both rather pointless additions...it is exceedingly difficult to make Zev go into backstab position...and Lelianna preffers to use her daggers eventhough her tactics specifically ask her to be an ARCHER...

In my opinion rogues are broken like that...I'm alittle pissed off at Bioware for putting such a massive amount of time and thought into the mage class in comparison to the others. We get it Bioware...your leaders find mages cooler then rogues...we're very excited for you now please make a patch to make the classes more balanced?

My request is overexagerated? Really now...

Who here can truely say that they did not spend a ton of gold on health pots when there is no mage present? Without Morrigan your damage is greatly decreased...and without Wynne you have no other heals but your possible own or Shales regeneration... It is near impossible, if not completely impossible to complete this game without atleast 1 mage with healing abilities in your group.

Also...take a look at the whole 'Wardens treaties' thing...you have one for the elves...one for the Dwarves...OH...and what is that....one for the MAGES..not a race...a class...why is there none for the rogues? Or for the warriors?...sorry Bioware but you truely slipped up in balancing out the classes.

Rogues are fun to play..simple as that...sadly the whole stealth thing is useless cause you have better things to spend your talent points on...Big mistake to not seperate the standard abilities from class designated abilities...Making Assassins a whole lot more weak then namely Duelist...Ranger is just pointless by the way...

Warrior is also fun to play, really fun indeed...sadly if you wanna have sucess with a warrior you need to be sword and shield...a greatsword might say it does more damage then a one handed sword...but there are MANY more special moves for sword and shield then there is for 2 handed...most of the 2 handed are activated abilities, not special moves...another epic fail, good job.

Duel wielding warriors are so damn nerfed that I simply cannot wrap my head around why the hell it's even an option...it's like asking a rogue to wield a 95 lbs battle axe...epic...fail

There are no daggers...only shortswords...oversized weapons are not cool -.-

When in the dalish camp you talk to that woman about a sick Halla...and you end up discussing humans riding horses..

FUNNY THAT I NEVER SEE A SINGLE HORSE AROUND

EPIC...FAIL

It's not with little regret that I have to say that this game had the potential to be fantastic, but Bioware royally messed it up.

I want my $50 back. Thank you.

Every chest I've opened so far has either been empty, or has contained useless junk that isn't even worth carting around to sell (except at soldier's peak). Kind of discouraging, really. When I went to the bracillian forests, there were so many chests in the ruins that I went back and retrieved Leilana for the sole purpose of picking them.

As expected, nothing of interest. A locked chest is still bothersome though, because there is always the "what if" factor.

Hey everyone,

I'm building a melee rogue on my current playthrough. Is Momentum really that badass? I was going to forgo it for Assassin and Duelist skills plus the final level of Stealth.

It seems the problem with rogues is less that they are useless (they arn't) and more that there is very little that they can do that a warrior cant. Other than lock picking and stealth.

Stealth is useless...I'm sure as heck not gonna spend a possible 4 talent points on being able to sneaking up behind an enemy and deal a regular critical strike....

Melee rogues require too much micromanagement if not the PC. They also have the worst stat allocation and buggy dexterity. Warriors and mages can focus on a few stats while rogues end up spread thin if you decide to use dex/cunning for dps or lockpick.

There are some traps in the game that can wipe your party during a fight.

I actually had fun micromanaging the two rogues on my team, but I guess I'm strange. Hrm. They -were- effective; I beat the game with a 3 melee + Wynne party.

Then again, rogues have always been my favorite fantasy RPG archetype overall.

I run with PC mage, Alistar, Shale and morrigan. I simply go back to the area after its cleared for a quick run through with Lily to get all the passed chests. It takes a little extra time but her archery doesn't compare to Shale's dps/survivability.

Exact same thing that I do.

I was actually amazed that the rogue AI doesnt try to get behind whatever the designated target is, or at least strike from within the flanking range.
