Stealth is not useless. I use stealth to scout out a room, remove traps, place traps, and one-shot kill the mage in the room, thus drawing the rest of the mobs into my traps, and into Alistair's taunt. At that point, Morrigan does her CC, and the mobs are completely desvastated.



Also, my rogues rarely die, and rarely need potions. However, I do not use tactics at all. I micromanage every attack by every character in every fight. For me, thats fun, because it is like a strategic chess game.

Cast haste on your 2nd runthrough and it's really not that bad. I'll enjoy being a rogue on my next playthrough but I can't stand Lelianna and Zevran can't pick locks at the moment...(only because I picked him up at such a late level)

I find the two rogue NPC's rather boring...  and not useful in combat.

Yeah, I only used a rogue a couple of times. I just ignore all the locked chests, since there usually isn't much worth looting anyway.

Leliana is cool. If you're powergaming, she's pointless. I'm not a powergamer, I'm just along for the ride.



My next (2nd) character will be an evil-ish rogue. You can't really be evil though, just sort of a jerk.

I myself made a Dalish rogue and balanced his skills with duelist and ranger with some archery skills. Lileana I just kept her as a bard and added a few more archery skills and together we kicked butt with bows...........depending on the situation.

Rogues are far from useless. Was thinking of starting one as my main character. How long do the poisons last? I tried them few times on my last playthrough but found them a bit too much of a hassle. Last like a minute so I didn't bother playing around with them and the fact that Leliana was bow-spec.

Have a dex dagger rogue atm (assassin/duelist) - using Alistair, Leliana & Morrigan
I respec'd Morrigan as a spirit healer - she has haste up all the time = blender

No idea if Haste & Momentum stack ... anyone know ?

I finished my first playthrough with Lelina in my group the whole time. I love the bard skills, such a force multiplier. with Lelina singing stam/mana regen with Wynne healing you can stay around a corner wile still in combat and regen as you pick apart large connected groups little by little.



I love the bard so much that I am on my second play through now plaing as the bard. Bard and champion are the two must have specilizations for my group make up. I am just bummed that Shale can't have a specialization.
