In summary, whoever the player deems eligible for death.

No one who I don't choose to let die.  Mass Effect is my damn heroic space opera save the grimdark and realistic choices for Dragon Age, here I want to save everyone!

On the first playthrough at least ...

What kind of crap is this?? Seriously, this is not "Angst Effect 3".

Character death should be a result of your actions, NOT demanded by plot. Character death is a sign of poor writing, unless it is a direct consequence of the players own actions.

So, all in all, Everyone here needs to get off the mope train, and stop asking these stupid questions.

Yeah like zelnik said, the plot shouldn't kill off the characters, it should be up to you

You have my sword, should you need it ^ for this :D I agree....
Anyone else dies, I'm going to start thinking Shepard is really bad at this!

This, but maybe a little more polite. I understand the irritation, though.

EVERYONE. The reapers should win and everyone in the galaxy should die. This should be inescapable even if you kept the base. Especially if you kept the base.
It will be a glorious death. We will take two of them with us, oh yeah!

Jacob should die. He can jeopardize Shepards mission so easily.

Everyone should have a chance to die at several points (preferably later on in the story so as to maximise interaction and enable enough time for the players to become acquainted with characters)

This includes Liara, Udina, Anderson, Hackett, Joker... hell - everyone!

Tali, Garrus and Wrex should all be unavoidable plot deaths. And a small trollface should pop up in almost unnoticeable areas of the screen when they happen.

I don't think Shepard should die. It's more fitting with his/her "Messiah" thing that he/she just disappears after defeating the Reapers, and then becomes a legend - and people would wait his/her return, some would believe that he/she is still alive, and will return when the galaxy needs him/her again...xD
I know, silly, but I'm a romantic in a sense LOL

But the other characters...? Thane will obviously die (and if he doesn't i'll be disappointed, because he SHOULD die, not because I don't like him, but because I think it fits perfectly with all his background and personality, I really like him. And a romance with him would be so tragic and wonderfully beautiful *-*). I won't be surprised if Joker, Tali or Garrus end up dying, too. Well, most people wouldn't cry with Jacob or Zaeed's death.

Is it too much to ask to sometimes have a happy ending? I'm getting really tired of this "the hero sacrifices for the greater good b.s. I mean, I get it, you're a hero, but come on. James Bond always walks away no worse for wear, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo both make it through... this isn't an anime or JRPG where everyone see's the hero's death coming.

I mean, if you screw up in your choices and are dancing in the middle of a battle zone and the reapers yell out "KILL IT WITH FIRE" at the sight of Shepard, well OK, you deserve to die. But otherwise, if you play responsibly and make the best choices, everyone should live.

I'm really really hoping for multiple endings in ME3. That way people like you can have your tragic hero ending, and people like me can have our victorious hero ending, and even the people who want to see the Reapers win can have that ending (kinda like the non-canon "Shepard Dies on the Suicide Mission" ending.) 'Cause I've said this before, I want Shepard to live. I like my happy endings, and those kind of tragic 'self-sacrifice' endings just annoy me these days.

As for who SHOULD die...

The Turian Councilor.

That is all.

This.

Also, Shepard already died. Having him die again = totally anticlimactic.
