To be honest, I was too disappointed that I didn't get the option to have Donnic killed off or something so that I could have Aveline to myself.

The fact that they went right at it while I was outside the room made me want to burn it down in my mage playthrough.

I miss origins love scenes, they were at least suggestive...
In DA2 your characters bring their weapons to bed, n not in the intimate way either.

If I remember correctly, when s/he started hearing the giggles, purrs, etc, Hawke smiles, shakes their head, and walks away.

There were faint noises after Hawke walked away.

Aveline also told Hawke to knock from now on.

Oh please, there's nothing wrong with that.  Giggling is good for releasing tension if the mood feels TOO serious.   And honestly, funny things DO happen during sex.  Loose/noisy headboards, creaky mattresses, awkward positioning in even more awkward places. lol!   I've had a few laughs myself. 

So Aveline and Donnic are doing it in the Captain of the Guard's office.   I could see how that would produce a chuckle or two.

I have to agree with you there, considering that Aveline didn't have sex for 4 years!  You would expect a few howls from her over that.

I think the relationship wasn't to that stage yet. Good grief her courtship was the most painfully awkward, funnies quest in the game so I doubt they did more than that at that 'new' point in their relationship. Probably a lot of giggling and fooling around for a bit. The nookie would come later I should think.

I will try not to comment on how far I think it went. Just wanted to point out that between Hawk pushing off from that wall and we getting control back, any number of days could have passed.
We -do not- see everything, interesting as it would have been to do so.
And by the line from the other guards(wo)man, I would think there had been some genital-interaction. In the barracks. Aka no secret. Not to mention they had a honeymoon.
Considering the lofty heights the pc ends up in, I would have liked a similar option.
