I really want all of the former squadmates to be available for my crew in ME3. So I can't really pick someone I want the most. But I can tell you who I will be most disappointed to not see in my squad.

1. Jack. I think she's the most underrated character, just because she doesn't get much attention on these boards. But from a character development standpoint, she absolutely is one of the most interesting.

2. Virmire Survivor. Though the characters don't really have that big of a place in my heart, for story sake I think they just have to be squadmates again.

3. Wrex. I'll understand if he's not in the squad, because he has a larger role with the krogan. But I SO want a Renegade Shep/Wrex/Grunt squad. How disgustingly badass would that be?

4. Samara. People write her off because she wasn't a love interest, but I happen to adore the character. And she promised I could call on her.

5. Aria. You didn't say which squadmates do you want to return, you said which character do you want to return as a squadmate. I want Aria to return and be a squadmate.

Honorable mention:

Liara. Though she's my favorite character in the ME universe, I wouldn't be crushed if she's not in my squad, just because I know there are other things for her in the story. As long as she's a large part of the game, it doesn't matter that much if she's in my squad.

Miranda. I didn't include her just because it's basically a given she'll be in the squad.

Shepard died once as well - and Zaeed got shot in the face and survived.

Theres no reason Nihlus can't return to life somehow. Maybe the Alliance or someone might try to revive him hah.

Okay, but remember Sheppard found Nihlus dead on Eden Prime, so its not like the Zaeed thing at all, I can see the council founding to bring him back. I doubt Cerberus or the Alliance would bring him back since there goal is to expand the growth of humanity.

Cerberus in some small part may see the benifits of reviving the dead - since they've done it before. As for Shepard finding him dead, well you saw Shepard frigging hit a planet from orbit. Not only did he burst into flames - suffocate - but he smashed into the planets surface with enough force to kill someone like 500x times over.

Clearly SOMEONE may want Nihlus alive - the Alliance is a small possiblity because not all of them are totally friggen pro-human only. Maybe Anderson secretly funds / pushes the project on the sidelines...


Either way I still wanna know who the hell VS is.

VS or (virmire Survivor) is a fictional DLC that Supporters of Ashley/Kaiden wanted to further the relationship between which on you chose to survive the Virmire destruction of Sarens clone base.  The supporters have been talking about it since "LOTSB" came out.  Since Bioware announced that arrival will be ME2 last story DLC this fictional DLC will not happen.  There is a possibility though that Arrival will focus on the Alliance which means that Ashley/Kaiden may pay a significant part in.  I say this for 2 reason 1) Bioware said that Admiral Hackett will play a significant role, and 2) Look at the armor of the guard in the 1st released image of Arrival, its not Blue Suns, Blood Pack, Eclypse or Cerberus.  But the guard is clearly human.

I'm pretty sure one of the developers said outright that Ashley/Kaidan will not be in Arrival.

BOOK SPOILERS, but isn't Paul Grayson kind of a longshot? I mean, not only was he indoctrinated, but he was also brutally killed, if I recall.

I doubt we are going to see Liara return as squadmate. Her new role is more important. But i wouldn't say no if she teamed up with shepard. She is amaizing character. As for Wrex, I'd love to see him returning, but he has his hands full already.

Note: I did not count any ties where people listed two characters in the same spot (such as Grunt/Wrex) because you needed to decide one way or the other. If the person had used less than their 5 votes and included an either/or preference, I added them both. In the case of Ashley or Kaidan, I considered them both Virmire Survivor (each one gets a vote as VS and each person that simply listed VS got one 1 vote). If someone gave less than five names, I counted their votes. If someone went over 5 names, I only counted the first five votes listed. I did not take into account the "rankings" of everyone's preferences (not everybody included numbers in their lists).

Note 2: It's interesting that these results (from the posts in this thread only) are not entirely consistent with the poll posted by the OP (which only allows one vote instead of five preference votes). Either some people are only participating in the poll, some are not sticking with their top choice as posted in this thread, some are neglecting to vote in the poll at all, or.. well there's lots of variables really. I just find it interesting to see which names pop up in everyone's top five as opposed to their top favourite overall.

Tali, because Tali was awesome and I am determined to see what in the world a quarian looks like.

Kasumi was the best DLC character, and as much as I felt the DLC characters were a let down, I did like her combat abilities. Kinda wish Shepard could have been able to disappear/reappear like that.

Thane was probably my favorite new character in terms of personality.

Mordin because who doesn't like singing scientists
