Alright now that I have your attention. I just wanted to point something out that has been bothering me..

Why all the controversy? We are in 2011 now, gay people are here forever, have been here forever, and will always be...Get used to it. I appreciate everything Bioware did for "us", they gained a lot of respect from me. I hope they continue to create gay relationships in other games, not just fem-fem.

How come the gay controversy didn't start when we had fem-fem in Mass Effect 1,2 and DA:O? Ohh, that's right cause it's okay!! it's hot!! No, it's just unfair. Zevran has been the only male-male relationship I have seen since I started playing video games. I have been playing games since NES.

If they are really making you feel uncomfortable in the game...Turn them down? Don't pick conversation options with the heart Icon? Don't be overly nice in bad situations? Be real, get real.

I'm sure making this won't even matter, I live in a small town in the NC mountains, I know what it is like to be spit on,cussed, made fun of, for being who I am. The only thing that has gotten me through the anti-gay mess is a brighter future for acceptance. Bioware you took a step towards that in this game, you gained a loyal fan. Just know that the majority of us don't care about the bisexual relationships. It's just the select few ignorant people that attempt to make it seem like it is a big deal.
I'm done ranting, signing off....
Loyal Gay Bioware Fan,Cole   Peace.:wizard:

I will agree with you that Bioware should make gay romance options for both sexes. However I mean no offence to you, the OP or any other homosexuals that reply to this or any of the other topics on this but I am a homophobe. To rpeat I mean no offence to any of the gay members of this forum and do not want to start a flame war, it's just how I am.

Anyway back on topic. Bioware should make homosexual relationships for both sexes, but they do not need to make every rmancable character bi. That is just cheap. I know I can just say no to them but then I miss out on a part of the game. So Bioware learn from this and keep some of your romance options straight.

Am I offended by the choice in game to have a homosexual relationship?
Absolutely not!

I am offended by the real life homosexuals flaunting their sexuality all over the place, now even gaming forums.

GTFO please.

Oh, you poor repressed straight person, having to see all the ******'s everywhere, actually living their lives; in public, no less! How do you do it?

I'll GTFO when you STFU. ^_^

News flash: heterosexuality is not any more appropriate than homosexuality. You signed up for a Canadian forum, where the two orientations are treated perfectly equally. So don't expect your own cultural assumptions to carry over and receive the same amount of respect. THIS is entirely appropriate. Deal with it.

Ergo, this is not appropriate!

And yet you just posted yours, albeit offhandedly. Double-standard much?

Sexuality is mentioned everywhere, by straights and gays like, offhandedly or otherwise. Expecting not to see any references about homosexuals, especially on a forum about a game containing elements of sex, of ****** and hetero variety, is ridiculous.

Don't wanna see us? Too bad, we're pretty much everywhere; same as you heteros. And just as you all, most (I hope) feel no shame about casualy mentioning our preferences.

I normally consider myself a politically correct person (you sort of have to be to work in my field).  Anders' sexuality doesn't matter much to me.  By targeting innocents to draw a desired reaction, Anders is a terrorist.  When a terrorist blows up a church full of innocent people, his or her sexual orientation is not of pressing importance.

Okay. So because there are currently more women than men on our planets, therefore being a men is not normal?
Or because there are more Asians than white and Africans, therefore you're not normal unless you're Asian?

All of those norms you mentioned, diplomatic relations, working hours & orders and such, apply to homosexuals just as heterosexuals where I live (I'm going to assume where you live as well), so of course they are normal. WTF you talking about?

Oh the irony of you brandish 'appropriateness' when you keep on throwing homophobic comments one after another. Keep it up, and I believe you're on the right track to get yourself banned on these forums.

If I wanted to read stuff like that, I would look it up, it is not hard to find, however I do not, I want to read about Dragon Age 2. Not how some gay was oppresed and now has to flaunt his own sexual experience and orientation everywhere, including this gaming forum.

Then why don't you target someone heterosexual? You didn't seem the type to be bothered by those 'OMG Isabela is so hawt I wanna bang her ****** wit my big man meat' threads. Because you targeted a minority, you'd be regarded as a biggot and a bully. Simple as that.

I didn't mention my sexuality, but you could implicitly come to the conclusion that I am not homosexual. Anything else is pure conjecture and guesswork from your part.

Your logic fails on so many levels.
It is normal to be either born as a male or a female, therefore males and females are normal. It is normal for a male to find a female, and for a female to find a male, nature dictates this, thereofre heterosexuality is normal, I would even go as far as to say bisexuality is normal. However this is not what we are discussing here, homosexuality will never be the "norm" and thank GOD for that.... (see what I did there? and I am not even a Christian)

Good point. I should target some heterosexuals, however the receiver of my critique would be some hormoned filled teenager. Here there is atleast a chance, that the message will get through.

Considering Homosexuality has existed alongside Heterosexuality since the dawn of man, I'd consider it quite normal.

Conforming with or constituting a norm or standard or level or type or social norm; not abnormal; "serve wine at normal room temperature"; "normal diplomatic relations"; "normal working hours"; "normal word order"; "normal curiosity"; "the normal course of events"
Hence, homosexuality will never be considered normal, untill the majority of the worlds population is homosexual. Just because there has always been people who deviated from the norm, does not make that deviance normal.
Ah! Now i got it: Normal = Majority

Unnormal = Every Minority

Unnormal Oppinions = bad (shouldn´t express their feelings in Public)

<--- actually your Oppinion should cause several trouble not only for Homosexuals, but also people with other (or like me none) Religion, other political Oppinions, and and and...
Actually there is a good Way to avoid this: Don´t read the Threads! Or did a bad bad ****** take ur Head, stuck something between ur eyelids, and sat u before ur computer, showing u the hatred Posts?? No? So why are u trolling around then?

You don´t seem to know, but Homos are human, like you and me, and they have the same rights to express their feelings about games and every other Topic here.

If you can´t accept that fact, it´s YOU who is wrong here, not the Homosexuals...

Not really, because this is a gaming forum for gamers, not a sexual oriented forum about homosexuality, therefore when I come to this forum, I expect moderation and a certain code of conduct. For instance I expect this forum to be free from people hereunder homosexuals, defending their sexual rights, and flaunting their orientation in my face. In addition I also expect any life story about once private sexual preference/orientation, to be deleted from this forum.
So Homosexuals are not allowed to express their minds, if attacked by others in this Forum, or on other public places, and should stay in seperate Ares and Forums, so they don´t make you feel ashamed, by having to watch them... that is... SICKING!

Leo, you should really spend more time, learning how to understand what is written instead of thinking you understand what was written.

Normal is what most people do. That is what the word means. A minority can do normal things, like eating, sleeping and having sex. That still makes them a minority.

Never said that what isn't normal is bad. I am simply saying it isn't the norm, and that it never will be. (talking purely about homosexuality here)

No person should be allowed to post his private sexual orientation/experience/prefference here. Simply because this is not a forum about that, it is a forum about games.
If you want to discuss sexuality I would recomend that you join a forum, that have that specific goal in mind.

I call you a bigot because you're the one who started arguing about sexuality and see it in the first place, instead of doing what any sane person who doesn't like homosexuality would do; letting it slide, ignoring it, and walking away.

And once again, a video game with homosexual elements. How is that not clear? See no reason why mentions of sexuality are an issue. If some dude starts graphically describing the sex he had with his husband last night fine, until then I disagree and will continue to disagree.

And yes you DO; as long as I post and noone censors it. And BioWare is not known for homophobia as yours. So I'd say I'm free to mention it as much as I want.

So you can dislike it all you want, but the posibility of us being censored *here* is unlikely indeed. Try not to lose too much sleep over it, hm?

"How come the gay controversy didn't start when we had fem-fem in Mass Effect 1"

Are you serious? The controversy in ME1 was huge, and specifically for femshep/Liara sex scene.

Either you are trolling, or your head has been buried in the sand for the past 4 years. There is no controversy, it's just two sides (both equally vocal and just as irritating) constantly bickering about a non-issue.

TLDR version: No one cares who Hawke sleeps with, move along.

So because I started a debate about the appropriateness of posting your private sexual experience/orientation on a forum for games, I am a bigot.
I used to let it slide, but now I am getting especially homosexuality stuffed down my throat on a daily basis, and I have simply come to my own personal breaking point. I cannot let it slide any more, it has become a frustration.

I don't mind that there is homosexuality in the game, for some reason you keep repeating that.
I mind that people are presenting their own sexual orientation/preference/experience on a forum about games.

I have homosexual friends, that actually agrees with me; the over the top, constantly flaunting and the sexual flamboyant homosexuals are ruining it for the majority of homosexuals, because you keep insisting on stuffing your own private sexual orientation down our throats.

STOP IT.

I think the bigot comments might possibly have been caused by you stating your opinions on how unnatural it was. I'm not here to argue that, before you get started on what is and isn't normal.

Seriously though, if you don't like something, don't read threads that clearly have sexuality mentioned in the title. You seem to be coming in here and looking for a fight. There is sexuality in the game and, subsequently, debates on it in these forums, so of course people will be mentioning it. You're not being forced to read them though.

It's also clear you're going to receive nothing but hostility here so maybe it's time to take a deep breath and step away? I've taken your viewpoint on board, I don't happen to agree with it, but I think it's best for everyone here that we just drop the subject. Nothing constructive is going to come of it.
