Well. it seems sales are nearing 1 million and Im not sure if any of the PC sales ive seen have digital downloads included(.22mil).

It seems sales took a 30% nosedive after week one. They wanted 4.5 mill but I doubt DA 2 is going to hit two million.

I for one will be sad if this bombs too much. I want more dragon age and I love the games and story of the games and really want to see more of the world and all the questions answered and ended. Flemeth, Morrigan ETC.

I pray we get a DA3 but a DA3 we deserve.

I'm sure there will be a DA3, but they will have to work a hell of a lot harder and longer on it.
Perhaps game patches and good DLC/Expansions may still save DA2...

Where is your source, do you have more than one source and is it reliable? Are they qualified to make predications about DA2 sales?

Bioware might use this as an excuse for a longer Dev Time that EA will be oblidged to give them.

Digital downloads make up a large part of sales nowadays, but apparently still aren't counted.

DA3 could go two ways.

1. A re-think and a real attempt at correction.
2. A cash in before lights out.

True, market research shows that digital downloads account for more than 60% of PC sales but official data is never published.

The NPD is now, after huge backlash, agreed to count Digital Downloads in the coming months.

idk DA2 sold pretty fast nd got alot of great reviews, just because theres a buncha complaining PC nerds dont mean anything, as far as i know and i know this for a fact DA2 isnt the last game in the series they are gonna expand this franchise until their very last penny whether or not DA@ does good or bad.......In my Opinion this DA2 is almost better in evry aspect than DAO and is definetly the best game on the market for me right now.

First of, it is not only PC Gamers "complaining". DA franchise could be in trouble, tho I truly hope not!

Can the OP sources your numbers pls?

I must say part of me wanted Bioware to do well and support their 'experiments'; but I simply want the sales numbers to teach them a lesson not to cut corners with short development cycles, or to neglect their loyal fanbase. I dunno...

I think the fact that so many of the people defending DA2 over DA:O can't even formulate a grammatically correct, properly annuciated sentence really says alot about its target audience... Really Bioware? You think they have more money to spend than us?

Quite frankly, they pretty much brought this on themselves by making a 'sequel hook' at the end of the game.

'If you want to find out how the story really ends, you'll have to buy the third game in the series.' Come on, Bioware. Can't you make a sequel without having to resort to teasing and tauntung in order to ensure that a third game gets made?

If they don't give us a conclusion after the sequel hook/cliffhanger ending, then DA2 will suck even more.

But since LucasArts turned down the official restoration KotOR 2 patch developed by Obsidian, I know publishers don't care about the art even a little bit.

No, EA will just fire the DA team and end the franchise. Most series never get to make a comeback like Devil May Cry and Highlander did.

Not only that. But will it be truly, my Hawke in DA3?

DA:O was a slow burn if I remember. It sold well, but not super fast at first. It is just that it kept going and going. It hit major sales milestones even after ME2 was published.

The answer to this question will be in the EA earnings call.

This is pretty much why I never played  Halo game again after number two. Not getting more money from me by milking the story.

If you're going to attack someone's grammar,  it's not "alot."  It's actually two words.  A lot.

Come on, Bioware, are you really going to listen to these negative whiners?  You think they have more money to spend than us?

I don't think Bioware or EA will understand they crippled the franchise till DA3 is announced and they have substantially less preorders.

Maybe after these numbers EA and Bioware will learn a lesson and not rush the next installment.

Why do so many people make the excuse for Bioware that it is Ea's fault for a bad game. Ea does not own Bioware. Bioware is it's own company and they make their own decisions. Ea is the developer Bioware created the game. So it's Biowares fault not Ea. Ea could put a little pressure by asking when will it be done but in the end Bioware said "Yea its a good game lets send it out"
