So I just finished my first playthrough as a mage. I sided with the mages, romanced Anders only to call it off in the end and was only level 19 when I finished. I rushed Act 3 mainly because I restarted numerous times and just wanted to get it over with. Now I am ready to begin my 2nd playthrough in which I intend to play more thoroughly.
I have experience as a rogue up to level 15 (though deleted the character since I failed to get Isabella and Fenris in act 1). But I have little experience with a Warrior. I'm hoping to venture into Nightmare since most of my first playthrough was played on Hard and I am wondering what class / specialization / style you all recommend for this playthrough?

If you want to play with Isabella and Fenris, you might as well go mage or tank-fighter. I am almost done with my second playthrough, and played a healing mage for no other reason than wanting an Anders-free playthrough(Although I've heard viable non-healing parties, I've never been good at building them).
If you missed not one but two companions in the first act, then I'd say slow down, and lay off the main quests for awhile. Be sure to do herbalist's tasks and the companion quests first, since the benefits obtained from these quests help in later quest.

Well my first playthrough I thought you get Isabella and Fenris through a quest-line like you do with Aveline and Varric. Once I reached Act 2, I knew something was off. At the time it wasn't a big deal because I was romancing Merril, but I soon got sick of running around with Aveline and missed out on the 2hand destruction.
My first completion was a Mage that specialized in Primal / Elemental / Spirit Healer and Blood Mage (Mainly for the bigger mana pool via health). I ran with Fenris, Varric and Anders which made things smoother in case I died or Anders died, we would have another player to rezz. Plus he was my female hawke's romance all the way till the end.
This playthrough, I'm going for a male perverted Hawke that is attracted to Isabella, hence the desire to run with her in my group. I'm unaware of the success rate for double rogue teams but doubt their success since it lacks CCC. I'm considering 2h warrior and having Isabella play as a support rogue with Goad, Back to Back, and a variety of other abilities from sabotage and subtley.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Don't do that. After starting my Nightmare playthrough before reading the fine print, a 2h is the worst thing for friendly fire. I'm almost positive I have more kills on my party than the enemy does. Precise, high damage attacks from a rouge are FAR more practical.Jaekahn wrote...

Definitely go with the rouge. My playthrough has gotten to the piint where my Warrior is so strong and the AI is so dumb and walks into my blows that I have to start a new playthrough for Nightmare.
If you're insistant on going with a 2h, then forget having another melee character in the party as they literally walk into ever single Mighty Blow you will put down. Even ranged party members catch a blade in the teeth far too often and waste all of Ander's time healing friendly fire.

It was so funny the first time I upgraded Winter's Grasp and used it on a melee target to find that I just killed myself plus two companions. I disabled that tactic afterwards.

Yeah, I was considering that. I think I'm going to play all three classes on hard and then once I find one that suits my playstyle the best, I'll carry that class over to nightmare and try a legit nightmare run. That's basically what I did with Mass Effect 2.. Lol, man I beat that game like.. 7 times and now, unfortunately, I need to do it 2 more times in addition to beating the first ME 2 times so that I have a paragon and renegade playthrough on my Xbox live account. I'm a sad panda.. But hey, at least it's a bioware game so it should be plenty enjoyable, ME2 that is.

Hehe yeah got to be carefull with upgraded winters graps it doesn't say it gets a bit of an AE boost and turns into a winter fire ball. When that sucker hits and all those ice cicles shoot out of the sides form the target they actualy hurt anything they poke.
