(Sorry for the double post, I put this in the wrong forum originally)

--

I just bought DA:O Ultimate Edition on Steam. For the most part, everything seems to have installed smoothly (no problems with DLC like  others have reported) and the game plays just fine. But I can't seem to upload my character profile, and I also get an error when I try to upload screenshots. It says: "Unable to access your online profile storage. The account information provided may be invalid." I'm logged into the game with the same e-mail as I use on this site. When I click on Profile Diagnostics, I get this: "Error Code 1000 - No characters were found in your on-line storage." For what it's worth, my achievements are uploading fine.

Any idea what's wrong and/or how I can fix this?

I'm in the EXACT same boat as the OP (Steam Version DA:O UE). Exactly how can the "account information I provided" be invalid when every achievement I unlock appears within seconds I wonder?

It's been over a day now, my character still won't upload and I continue to receive the same errors previously mentioned. It's a shame that part of this isn't working, as I'm loving the game so far.

So, I'm guessing that those of us who can't get this feature working... we're just screwed? I keep finding lots of topics with people having the same or very similar problems, and none of them have any real solutions. Frustrating.

As I haven't seen any recent official acknowledgement of the problem by BW or EA (I will happily and humbly stand corrected if presented with a valid link that includes words to the effect: 'we are aware of and are working on this issue with all due haste and dilligence), and much of the P2P FAQs and advice end with the phrase "no current workaround", I would hazard a guess that EA/BW has decided to reduce money/manpower on this part of the franchise. Perhaps this UE is the final harvest as they put it out to pasture. Although I am, with a heavy heart, forced to wonder where they redirected all that talent as I am of the opinion that DAII DID feel rather incomplete and rushed.*

Digression aside, I believe my problem more then likely stems from the reported "multiple persona disorder". I have tried everything short of actually talking to an EA rep about "merging" (after reading some of the experiences of others, I'm a bit loathe to try). I've been messing around with ports, making .ini file comparisons / changes (as my DAII characters seem to upload just fine, if sporadically at times). I even downloaded the CC which after completing the first quest of getting it to RUN** turned out to be useless.

I may have to poke around it some more, but I am more of the that EA's involvement with the account making process is what's mucking me up. I "appear" to have at least two personas on the EA site. Despite the fact that every logon to every account/psuedo account/persona/etc. is exactly the same (same email, same PW) the CHA/Story server still seems to believe I am providing it with incorrect credentials. Again, which mystifies me as the Achievement server can't get my unlocks loaded any faster if it wanted to.

Maybe the server is shunning me because I used Steam instead of EADM? Maybe it's because I'm using the UE version rather then the seperately purchased amalgamation? I would conclude, however, that it's just not that high on the "Honey-do" list, if it's there at all. In conclusion, yes... we may very well be getting the shaft in this department.

I realize it's not gamebreaking, and I know I can play it in its entirety without so much as surfing past this site. But I do rather enjoy looking at other profiles, and seeing how other people developed their characters in relation to my own. It helps me build a better Soulrot Trap. Image IPB

I hope there's an achievement unlock for "Completed Dragon Age Origins Through the Sheer Power of Your Will and Imagination Alone, Since You Obviously Didn't Make Any Characters to Accomplish This!"  Image IPB

Ah well... TES:V ... my hope burns brightly for thee...

*I make this statment with some reluctance as I immensely enjoyed the game. I just felt that it could have had more. Act 1 alone seemed to comprise ~50% of the game. I was rather perturbed at the overall lack of content that acts 2 & 3 provided. Now after the first playthrough I am just playing DAII for the combat (I enjoy its faster pace and more up close, personal, and visceral feel) not the story. Not even going to bother with the "relationship" feature again. That part feels more tacked on then anything else in the game.

**I'm running a GeForce GTS250 and was getting the infamous and enigmatic nv4_disp BSOD immediately after the intro movies/splashes. Turns out after poking around the game files, the CC didn't generate a proper .ini file so the program didn't have anything to tell my GPU about display properties. A few cuts and pastes from my Origins .ini later, I got it to work (in case anyone else has this issue).
