First generation. Tried BG 2 first but got bored in Irenicus' dungeon... then I borrowed Neverwinter Nights from my cousin, loved the game, bought it myself and then played BG 2 from start to finish..

First Generation: Baldur's Gate 1.
I played all the franchise, including tales of the sword coast and throne of bhaal. The quality of that game has never been matched by any other title in history.

By the way, i recommend you mkae a POLL about this - it allows to see the results much easier.

Generation 1 - I started off with the BG series. Was a Bioware fan after BG2.

Shattered Steel was my first BW game, so Generation 0.

Generation 3: I'd been merrily confusing Bioware with Bioshock until someone harangued me to play Origins. Yes, I know, that's a special level of cluelessness that few people achieve, but I've always liked to think I'm special! But RPGs in general seemed to pass me by for at least a decade longer than they should have done. That was supposed to be an excuse, however unconvincing.

1. Was first introduced to Bioware through watching my Dad play Baldur's Gate and later on he got me playing it and never got his game back after that xD

Started in Gen1, skipped Gen2, and came back for Gen3.
This would be a perfect description of me, as well.
Didn't skip Gen 2 because of any percieved lack of quality but more because those Game's subject matter didn't really appeal to me.

Gen 2 was a bit rubbish. A mediocre Star Wars game and a really terrible game. They redeemed themselves with Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins though.

Generation 1.
Played BG2 and started following the BIS boards just before ToB went gold. NWN was so disappointing it put me off computer games, until NWN2 brought me back. Afterwards, I caught up with JE and KotOR.
