Hi guys,

Whenever my rogue executes a regular attack, a 'slash' sound upon hitting the enemy doesn't play (it used to).
However the midair spin that happens every few attacks still plays a 'slash' sound, and abilities are working fine.

I created a new character as a rogue and the 'slash' sounds played fine on that character, but no difference on my other save.

The character with this issue hasn't even done the Deep Roads expedition yet. I can't remeber exactly when the issue first appeared but I know that it happened sometime after arriving at Kirkwall.

I have tried restarting, etc, but I'm trying to avoid a reinstall.

If you need a DXDiag, I can post it in a couple of hours.

Thanks

Edit: My computer is safely over the Reccommended Sys. Req., but I will post a DXDiag soon for various other info.
I installed DA2 with the physical disc Sig Edition, with all related DLC.
I have the latest patch applied and have installed Hi-Res textures.
I have not modified my game.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium, but SP1 is not installed. (If anyone could help with installing SP1, that'd be good too) All other updates are installed and I have all the latest drivers.

This usually occurs when you switch between ranged weapon and two 'daggers' manually, during combat.

The sound returns if you switch your weapons OUT of combat, say to two daggers. Then when you enter combat and make attacks WITH the daggers, the sound should play again correctly.

I think it has to do with your character executing animations (two dagger attack) while the game's audio system still thinks you've got a bow equipped. If you manually switch weapon types during combat you might notice a distinct 'lag' between equipping a weapon type and your character actually getting around to attacking with the new weapon type.

I don't recall ever switching weapons of any kind mid-combat. Do you know if anything else causes it? I'll try switching to a bow and back to see if anything happens anyway.

No luck with the switching. Any other solutions?

Try using different daggers or switching hands? I seem to have trouble with the Arm of Adruil killing my attack sounds if it's in my left hand.

Ah, I think that's the dagger I'm using... I'll check & test next time I'm on.
Thanks
