Can you please relax? No need to get agitated. 10 minutes is better than nothing. Liara was important enough to design a planet for. Her mission lasted a bit longer than 10 minutes. Some of them keep being relevant even beyond ME1 (Liara for her roles in ME2 and in LotSB and likely in ME3 and to some extent Tali - if the Geth situation has any significance in ME3). We don't know what roles Ashley or Kaidan will play in ME3, but BW wanted them to be alive for the ME3. Things like that make me feel that they are part of the story. But you are free to think otherwise.
Edit: Removed some spoilers. Sorry about that.
Same and I really, really miss this! www.youtube.com/watchJedTed wrote...
I DO miss a lot of the ambient music from ME1. Noveria and Peak 15 come to mind.
Yeah well BioWare tried something different with Jade Empire and they made a good (But not as good as previous games) game. But umm Sonic Legends? Yeah well lets just pretend it never happened shall we?TwistedComplex wrote...

And I miss the planet overviews, and GOOD, LORE CONSISTENT planet descriptions...
And the EXPLOSIONS that looked normal and beautiful, instead of the "barrel of gas go nuclear" cheap hollywood crap 'splosions...
And the SQUAD ARMOR, that made the squadmates look like squadmades, and not a freak circus on the show...
And the SCARS, that looked like scars from a combat situation, and not a glowing "Ima evul" sh*t that costs an hour real-time of planet mining to remove.

You were agitated. Removing that part from your quotes doesn't change that fact.Bamboozalist wrote...
Well considering we had an entire game based around recruiting and getting to know a squad, we've yet to see nothing...ME2 squadmates were far more important than ME1 squadmates, in terms of importance to their respective game because 90% of the game was about their recruitment missions/loyalty missions. Also you are indead correct Liara's recruitment mission did last longer than 10 minutes, I just did it, on Insanity it lasted 23 minutes.AngryFrozenWater wrote...

I'm not agitated, I'm just pointing out a blatant falsehood.
For example
Saying "ME2 squadmates had no impact on the plot," is false, ME2's plot was 90% about them.
Now saying "I liked the way ME1's squadmates were part of the story more than I liked the way ME2's squadmates were part of the story". That's fine, but when you start saying 90% of ME2 didn't exist I'm going to have a problem with it.
I am sticking with it. I don't present this as fact. I just say how I feel about it. I am fine that you have another opinion. But your opinion does not invalidate mine. It's like arguing that red is a nicer color than blue.AngryFrozenWater wrote...
I think you can say I am a ME1 fan. I've completed the game 12 times. I still have a 13th unfinished one. I love that the crew is integrated in the story. They don't drop out of thin air, but you'll encounter them during your investigation. All have a part of the puzzle or lead you to another part of the puzzle. What that does is make the main story larger and you feel that everyone in the crew has or had an actual role in it. I wish that the later BW games did that too.

That was absolutely great, I felt like I'm on a cutting edge military warship rather than a private yacht like in the second game.Fixers0 wrote...

Size and shinies are not always beneficial to the atmosphere.
