ME1 had more flaws and annoyances than ME2 did.
I did like some things in ME1 more however such as the villain (Saren was awesome).

I have no problems with it either. However, I am on PC. The PC version did have better handling after console players complained about it. The PC version was released somewhat later, BTW. Still, there are console players who claim that they could drive the Mako just fine. If you don't want to climb a mountain then drive around it. That was nearly always possible.LPPrince wrote...

We didn't want loading screens or mission complete screens Bioware, goddamn we just wanted them shorter.
Or for you to find other clever ways to hide loading. Damn it Bioware.
And no one told you to replace planet exploration with mining! Who the hell thought this was a good idea!? We wanted you to make exploratiin better and the planets more unique.
Why do you do these things to me?

The Mako debate is a PC vs. X-Box debate. I have played on both platforms. The Mako handles much better on the PC. Divorcing camera/turret control from steering direction makes a world of difference.
Eh it's been years since I played it on PC so I can't really comment on that.
But I'll always remeber with Halo 1 the warthog was tons of fun but clunky so for Halo 2,3 and Reach Bungie tweaked the Warthog to perfection, but what does BioWare do with the Mako ? Why they get rid of it all together!

Well Mako had a learning curve... But after few missions I was able to pilot it very easily!!!
It is very disappointing that ME3 will not have planetary exploration!!!
Well they just say in the GI article that vehicle exploration will not be a main part of the game and it will be managed like the second one... So via DLC I suppose!
Then thay also have a couple of sentences that seem to confirm that the game will have less freedom, less "galaxy exploration". If you wish I can report the text I am quoting!

I guess I'm one of the few whose enthusiasm for the franchise was "killed" by ME2. I am not the the least bit enthusiastic about ME3. There is only true Mass Effect game for me and that is the first one.
We are NOT few!!!... The disappointment is everywhere!!! Just search on the web (google, forum, blog, in the comment section of thousand sites etcc..) and you will be surprised how the real reaction to ME2 seems to be different deeply different from the one that BiowEA & "game journalism" are trying to make people believe.

Just because you're well scattered doesn't mean there are that many of you. You're still in the minority, whether you believe it or not. A vocal minority (and one that seems to never tire of hearing its own voice), but still a minority. The fact that ME2 has sold more games despite being out for a shorter period of time indicates this. Enough with your conspiracy theories, just accept the fact that you ARE the minority in this matter. Seriously, you remind me of this:Franzius wrote...

So the Reapers are attacking Earth, and you want to go explore uncharted planets for resources and do meaningless, random side quests. Sounds like a fun game. In ME 1, with every side mission, I was asking, "aren't we supposed to be looking for the Conduit? Why am I wasting time flying to systems way out of my way doing jobs that are in no way related to my mission?" But you had to do it that way if you wanted to experience all the content.
I thought the way they did it in ME2 was much better. You could ignore all the side missions and focus on the main mission, and still experience all the side quests because they let you continue playing after the SM.
They either need to do it the same way in ME3, or they need to make all side missions somehow tied to the fighting the Reapers. Otherwise it will make no sense. I don't want to see a situation where the earth is being wiped out, but I've got to take some mercs out.

The Collectors were doing hit and run attacks, and except for Horizon we didn't know where they were going to attack. That's why the mission was to attack their home base, and doing the loyalty missions were part of getting ready to attack the home base.

I miss the feeling of travelling to strange, alien worlds, the sense of adventure and discovery (see pic). No matter how polished the gunplay, a warehouse filled with boxes cannot convey it.
I miss the atmospheric music.
I miss the elegant galaxy navigation screen and the liberal use of military jargon. Never got tired of hearing Normandy’s VI announcing when the commanding officer was ashore or abord.
I miss the the interesting villains and the moments when the game was not afraid of dumping exposition on you and adding dept to the universe. The dialogue with Sovereign and Vigil are among the best moments in both games.

Don't get me wrong I'm not upset that the generic side-quests are gone, it's the feel of exploration, the large enviroment and discovering new locations that I miss.
To be honest I see ME3 as a perfect place to bring back exploration, as were going to be going to all the corners of the galaxy recruiting alien races.
For instance the Quarians ask Shep to take out a geth base on a uncharted world as a sort of secondery mission.
Whislt Shep explores in the Mako/Hammerhead/Something new he discovers that the Geth are rallying forces and he can either join with the Geth and destroy a Quarian outpost or fight the Geth at the base (This is just an example of course).
This way there is plenty of exploration and it ties into the main plot of fighting the Reapers

And thanks for the input.
And about the combat can't just be in a warhouse I completly agree but a few missions do have open enviroments (Jacob's LM, Tali's RM Etc)
