Yeah this pissed me off as I'm a complesinist but I never bother with the N7 missions because it's too much hard work just going around and hoping to find something....Mr. MannlyMan wrote...
The one with the low-lying acidic haze was pretty neat (but only with squadmates who were wearing the appropriate clothing). Sadly, very few of them had any dialogue, and very little of that was even remotely memorable.
I did enjoy the missile silo and the mech factory, though. It would've been nice if the missions had a trigger or at least tied in to the main portion of the game. Having the Alliance ask small favors of you was better than having EDI detect anomalies for you; heck, in ME1 even Joker chimed in with "intel" once in a while.
What we miss from ME1 :( *Now with a group of over 140 members!* *We have reached over 40 pages!* *Now with poll!*

Why BiowEA Why ?
It has got to suck for Bioware... First, you guys **** about how planet exploration and the elevators were stupid and pointless and now you guys suddenly treat these features as the best thing in Mass Effect.

I don't remeber anyone saying to get rid of elevators or exploration all together.
People said they wanted shorter elevator rides.
So BioWare replaced them with loading screens
People said they wanted more variety in exploration
So BioWare got rid of exploration all together
People said they wanted a better inventory
So BioWare got rid of it all together
Etc
I'm saying BioWare should have improvd on them not got rid of them and replaced them with something else.
And this is a thread about what we miss from ME1 not what we dislike about ME2.

Oh the glory days of ME2! How I miss thee! I miss your awesome characters!
http://s914.photobuc...pg?t=1302928175
I miss your interesting and complex antagonist.

I miss your dark and gritty atmosphere.

I miss your spectacular cutscenes.

I miss your challenging enemies.

I miss your skill trees that pay dividends.

I miss your epic endgame.

I miss your amazing DLC.

In that vein, I miss your fast and maneuverable beast of a vehicle.

I guess my point is that it makes no sense to "miss" these things as if you no longer have them. Enjoy what you enjoy!

I also like how the first one actually makes you feel like you are in space. I mean, what is Jack wearing? Is that really appropriate wear for an outer space odyssey? I like having all my teammates wear helmets so I feel like I am playing something like a Starship Troopers game.

Completely amazing game. Mass Effect 2 is Aliens as opposed to Mass Effect 1 as Blade Runner.
You say it like Aliens is a bad movie.
Nope, Aliens is incredible. One of the best sci-fi films ever made.
But even so, Blade Runner still tops it.
I usually equate ME2 to michael bay movies. I happen to like a lot of michael bay movies. But some consider it an insult, so I have been trying to come up with a better example. Aliens doesn't fit for me, it isn't flashy enough. I'd normally put Aliens in the ME1 side of things. But then I thought if ME1 = blade runner, ME2 equals the fith element. I love both movies, but they have disticntly different styles. 5th element amps up the explosions and flash and style, where as blade runner is more gritty and down to earth.

Eh you say that but if my freinds wanted guns 'n boobs they would go play Grand theft auto (Not hating on GTA, I love it but my freinds spend a little too long in the strip clubs) not Mass effect.
(Infact I don't even have freinds who are into Mass effect but are crazy about COD)
But still I play Mass effect for moments like this

Not for moments like this

loved the cold and fiery themed planets the best. Never had a problem

There was one planet where they had flaming meteors flying everywhere.
That one was pretty cool too.

Yeah there aren't many planets like that in ME2 are there
None come to mind.
The N7 missions were utterly forgettable
as much as i prefer me1, that is just unfair. there were good views in zaeed's mission, in overlord, in some n7 missions (which were not any more forgettable than me1 n7 missions).
and msv estevanico is my single favourite environment in me franchise so far even if it's tiny. the moment it shook the first time and the view suddenly shifted i felt almost like bunjee jumping. it looks and sounds (thank you subwoofer) amazing, my heart actually started pounding faster as i sucked the air in my lungs.
me1 skies were great, but planet surfaces... hills with razorsharp edges that your mako bounces on... with textures so small they look like those tiled wallpapers on win95... with no vegetation whatsoever, every planet in the known galaxy was a desert...
no, that is not one of the things i miss.

you missed the point of the thread. it's not "oh how i miss me1 because i've lost my copy".
it's "oh, how i miss things that disappeared from the franchise, that i hoped to see developed further". ie, i was really hoping for better planets, with better textures, better shaped terrain, and with ecosystems. i was hoping for a better vehicle.
and most importantly, i was hoping to learn more about the reapers and to delve deeper into an epic backstory that spans millions of years.

sure. i miss being treated as an adult. with me2 i felt like some dev said:
"hey guys, since our target audience is in their early teens we need to put as much boobs and asses as possible. like, when shepard is talking to a woman, a camera should point at her bits, cause that's the way boys in their early teens talk to women".
"you know what we need guys? we need a space paladin - wait, hear me out guys - we need a space paladin WITH BOOBS"

There did seem to be a lot of BOOBS and ASS. Funny because about 40% of the people on this site are women however EA seems to think its more like 10%.......

Perhaps, but we have no reason to pine for these things if we still have them. Besides, we have no reason to believe that they really have disappeared from the franchise, as it hasn't been finished yet. By that logic, all of the things I posted are legitimate things to "miss," despite still having my copy of ME2.
