I miss the knock back you got from the sniper rifle and the shotguns.
I miss the sense of progression you got when you up your shields and health.
Miss the old level designs, being big and having somewhat of a fluid cover system instead of being forced.
Miss the heating and cooling weapons system. Hate finding ammo for my sniper rifle. It has become for me do I use or do I not use my sniper rifle. So much for higher DPS.
The feeling of epicness in the main story. The side missions were epic in ME2, but the crowning moment of awesome for me anyway is on the citadel, riding the elevator to the council,. Having it stop, so Shepard shoots the window and climb up to the council to stop saren. Plus the music was epic in it own cord.
Armor.
Defense. Why so fragile Shep?
Using multiplie skills. I would gladly take a longer cool down. Besides we have a better shooter mechanic so it is a win-win in my eyes. To bad about that protection though.
Everything else is just a toy.

I wonder if Bioware will actually add things from ME1 back gameplay wise. I thought up a way the Devs could have their 'ammo' and still use the overheat, simple: Remember in ME1 it said shots till overheat XX? Ok, in ME3 make it actually follow that instead of shots till over heat 16 but with weapon mods infinite. So heres my thought, lets say the pistol has 16 shots to overheat in ME3 you shot 16 rounds and now you do the whole heat sink crap BUT you never run out of ammo. You get the reload mechanic with the overheat one. Also for the love of god, shields and armor do not stop biotics. I have a mod in ME2 that makes it like ME1 where if I lift my enemy even with shields it works. I'd love for that to return in ME3

The Mass Effect crew could really learn something from Dragon Age 2 as far as inter-party banter goes, that's for sure.

I don't know who voices in DA, but in ME, it's top people who happen to be stars. You have to give those people big checks. Paying them just for "miscellanious" dialog seems like a waste of a lot of money that can go somewhere better.
looks like SOMEBODY never got the talk with Mordin about limitations.

Thanks. The first idea is a hybrid between both because we all know that the devs will never bring anything directly back from ME1 because they all feel like that game was a mistake, the evidence is all around, such as everytime a feature is brought up that was like ME1 they quickly wave their hands and say not like that game. The second idea is to match the lore and cause shooting off the enemies protection and stopping to throw a biotic power seems stupid when they're about two more hits away from death.
Although I think you're right. I don't know how many others would go for those ideas cause everyone likes playing the same game in different settings (Battlefield <-> Call of Duty, Gears of War <-> ME2 and soon ME3). I find it annoying. ME1 was unique in style, music, gameplay, where as now it seems like ME is following more mainstream ideas to get more sales. Alas the evil dollar.

Oh, I inteed too soon enough. I'll be starting about my 20 somethingish playthrough within the next week or so.
When we say we miss it, at least when I do, we miss its style and feel and want more games like it, not like its a dead person or something inaccessible.

pft. i have 4 pages i scroll through when trying to import a character from ME1 into ME2. and that doesnt even include the crazy amount of characters i have that didint make it exactly to the finale. which also doesnt include the amount of times i played through eden prime only to quit because i noticed my nose was sticking way to far out. its awesome!
ive played ME1 so much that i cant even play it anymore becaseu ive absorbed every little awesome aspect i possible could have enjoyed. i really shoulda tried a few other games but ME1 is simply better.
i was done with ME2 ater maybe 5 runs. not even sure i played the suicide mission in more then one of them.

Yeah I dont mind the combat beeing very similar to Gears of war but I dont want the same style of art or music Etc (If you actually listen to the ME2 combat tracks you'll see they are very similar to the Gears 1 and 2 soundtrack)Computer_God91 wrote...

Yeah there were a lot of Normandy related things in ME1 that dissapeard in ME2.Splinter Cell 108 wrote...
I don't know if this has been said before but I really miss being able to land the ship and stay aboard it. The decontamination chamber is also missing. I don't really know why these were removed, they weren't causing any problems. I hate that in ME2 each time you want to land somewhere you have get out of the ship.
For instance remeber that great tune that would play on the Normandy whislt you explore?

I doubt that they will bring shops back after all DA2 used ME2's system.Sigyn2011 wrote...
But of course! I miss the roaming parts of ME1 where you could take your time. It's understandable why you were forced into the 2nd and 3rd big missions in ME2, but I hope that ME3 brings back some of that freedom to explore at your own pace. I also miss the interactions with the shops. Call me old fashioned RPG player, I guess, but the so-called interactive holograph projectors in the Zakera Wards didn't steal my breath away. I hope that BW brings back those shops again!
