Shotguns were ridiculous in ME1. You could actually snipe with those things.

Shotguns feel like shotguns in ME2.

I'd say they both failed in that regard.  Shotguns aren't sniping weapons like ME1, but they aren't purely point blank weapons like ME2.  They are actualy quite effective out to a decent range.  But that is a realsim argument, on a game balance level they need the stupid short range so SMGs have a purpose.  ME1 didn't really have different reasons for different guns.

Still I do miss carnage.

I miss a lot from ME1. Almost everything, although some things(copied bases, crowded inventory) needed touching up.

But as for this thread, I'm a bit offended by the sarcasm and "looking down on" by people who disagree with others.

If you don't miss ME1's Mako, Space Vistas, music, etc etc, that's 100% valid and fine. Just don't look at those who do miss those elements and start acting stupid towards them.

Works the other way around. If people don't miss ME1, don't start bagging on them because they prefer ME2's music, lack of exploration, lack of inventory, tighter missions, etc etc. Their opinion is as valid as any other.

For christ's sake people, accept the fact that there are people who don't share your opinion and above all else, their opinions AREN'T CRAZY.

couldnt have said it better!  i actually liked ME1 better because it felt more like an RPG, but i understand how a call of duty fan might find all the talking a bit boring.

Actually I'm not sure if there really was less talking in ME2 or if it just was less complex......
I mean all the freind I have who are into Halo or COD (I love those games too) enjoy like Mass effect but complain about there being too much talking.
Infact most of them prefer ME1 because you can use any weapon you want and there are tons more armor and weapons.
Agian I'm not hating on anybody I'm just saying what my freinds think.

I can't believe they really did that.

Seriously that's embarrassing.

I mean wow, helmets apparently aren't necessary in space why the hell should Shepard wear one?

What I seriously missed was how combat could be anywhere. Not specific areas where you take out your gun only. Makes it more realistic and added the immersion for me.

Indeed she looked better with it off.

If you know what I mean...

But seriously they should have given her armor, putting it in a costume pack and charging us for it is NOT COOL BIOWARE.

I THOUGHT WE WERE COOL

Oh yeah that was cool.
In ME2 combat is just way too predictable, if there are some boxes to take cover behind you know theres going to be a fight.

Yeah I know what you mean.......
Even companys like Epic games (The guys who did Gears of war where 80% of the charcters are big-giant-men on steriods) know that its stupid to have soldiers fighting in cat-suits.

What did I miss? "Decontamination in Progress....Decontamination In Progress..." I loved the realism. And ..the ability to actually board the Normandy without undocking; Seemed silly to enter Normandy SR2 and fly away to change your armor.

Here is the thing on practical vs. unpractical armor. I think this can be solved with bringing armor customization back. Each character has their casual outfits, which in can be really skanky. Then you can customize over that with Mass Effect 1's armor choices.

Yeah thats a pretty good idea and I think BioWare have noticed by now how face-palm worthy Miranda's cat-suits are......

Ehh hopefully its just a off-duty outfit and that she'll have proper armor for combat.
I mean Ashley is a hard-core soldier and it would be down-right stupid to have her in a cat-suit whislt fighting Reapers....

Yeah at least you can say that Miranda or Jack had enough Biotics to protect themselves but Ashley dosent have any excuse for wearing that......

True but then why is Garrus or Grunt using heavy armor?. Or why is Jack wearing her nipple-belt-thingy?

I miss the large worlds for exploration. Mako exploration! Would love to see the Mako return fused with worlds like that of Project Overlord... or better the option to choose the Mako or Hammerhead and play through worlds your way!
I miss the ability to change squad armors
Toggle helmets and helmets for squad mates
I miss squadmates having on-normandy clothes and a different combat look

Recap: Exploration with both Hammerhead and Mako! Return of Combat armor choices and unique on-Normandy clothes

Yeah I get the feeling Overload was a sort of experiment of having large enviroments combined with ME2's combat. So as Overload was brilliant I bet BioWare are gonna have something like that in ME3.....
