But good on you guys mentioning the vistas, the Mako(I MISS YOU SO MUCH), the open environments, the 80's sci-fi feel, the exploration, the explosions, the inventory(not so much ME1's, but just HAVING one in general), etc etc

This thread has made me realize theres really nothing I miss all that much from ME1.
You don't even miss going around unknown planets with your Super-duper-shotgun-that-kills-everything-in-one-shot
just a little bit?
Don't recall having such a weapon work on insanity.

Oh I just made a poll about what we miss from ME1 here it is:
http://social.biowar...14/polls/17622/
I voted for the retro sci-fi style that was prevalent in ME1. That's what really impressed me about the universe; just walking out into the ward markets on that first trip to the Citadel, looking out at the wards and thinking, "Holy crap, **** just got real!" The lens flares, the selective color palettes, the ambience, etc... I'll never argue that ME2 was a bad game, but the fact that it threw away such a definitive style kind of turned me off tbh.

I thought ME2's Citadel didn't look to bad. (Not talking about size, just look.)Mr. MannlyMan wrote...

Thats the exact same problem I have with ME2. I can put up with smaller locations, less customisation Etc (I still miss them but it dosen't ruin the game for me) but I really have no idea why they got rid of that style of Sci-Fi. I mean nobody critisied the Retro style infact a lot of people said it was a highlight of the game.Mr. MannlyMan wrote...

Look this is not a "ME2 sucks durr it haz no properz RPGs!" thread this is a thread for discussing what we miss from ME1
I miss memorable and interesting bossfights and discovering creatures like the thorian and the rachni queen.
I miss that shepardts prothean knowlegde, that the so called protagonist actually plays an important role in the story aside from boring pockemoning the whole game.

Someone want to explain this 80's scifi thing? I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
If you have played ME1 you'll notice for example that a lot of the soundtrack had many electronic songs (Listen to this www.youtube.com/watch or this www.youtube.com/watch) or areas like the Presiduim and Noveria felt quite retro.
This style of Sci-Fi was fairly commen in the 80s which is why I call it that (A better term would probbably be Techno Sci-Fi) unlike in ME2 where it was a lot more like modern day hollywood style Sci-Fi.
Hope that helps and sorry for not explaning it very well.
