It's disturbing how many people seem to thing being positive about ME means that you're insulting ME2. ME did a bunch of things better than ME2, get over it. Nobody is taking your game away from you just by saying they liked Noveria. I do miss things from the first game, it doesn't mean I hate the second. Although if we're drawing comparisons, I'd say ME2 was more Armageddon than Aliens.
Anyway, I miss outfitting my squad with environmentally appropriate camo. I miss switching ammo around to fit the enemy I was fighting. I miss being surprised by the story.

Is this because I said that the reason I don't miss ME1 is because ME2 was a better game? And well, this is a ME1 and ME2 comparisson tread in the end, because if it was not, then my answer is: go play ME1 again.
.
And well, there are a couple of things I miss from ME1 too, but overall, I don't miss it.

That would be the fans. The elevators were heavily criticized by both critics and fans on this forum. That's why they got rid of them. They made a mistake by getting rid of party banter, though.Rurik_Niall wrote...
Seriously what idiot game testers said "Mass Effect 2 is awesome, but you know what would make it better? Getting rid of the cleverly disguised loading screens like elevators with inter-party banter and replacing them with boring traditional loading screens! Boy I sure do love staring at boring traditional loading screens, it adds so much to the gaming experience."

On topic:Why do you think BioWare decided to make the shift from techno Sci-Fi to more modern Hollywood style Sci-FI ?

True, sorry if I came across as a little agressive but all I'm asking is that if somebody wants to disscuss why ME1 or ME2 is better they do it elsewhere as this thread isn't about thatAlanC9 wrote...
Just because you created the thread doesn't mean you own it, dude.

ME2 has better combat, but I really do miss all the things from ME1...Citadel exploration (as well as bigger hub worlds, such as Port Hanshan in Noveria), I miss the longer power up stuff (You could reach lv 30 in ME2 in one playthrough, in ME1 to get level 60 it took at least 2), I miss the exploration, the ammo upgrades (they pwned the ammo powers in ME2) and the much deeper and darker story.
Mass Effect 2 had a lot going for it but overall Mass Effect 1 is superior.

True I did think ME2's wards where more alive but I was kind of dissapointed at the really enclosed level desighnMrFob wrote...
I just saw the picture of the wards further up and that reminded me: I do miss a great deal from ME1 but my first introduction to the wards was in revelation (the novel). When young Anderson stepped into the wards for the first time (in the book at least), they were described as crowded, vibrant with colorful holographic advertisements in all sorts of languages everywhere. While I loved the ships and the presidium when I first played ME1, I was a bit let down when I first saw the wards. They looked .. empty and clean and they didn't really build a counterpoint to the presidium. The wards in mE2 however did a much better job of capturing the atmosphere I got from the books. It's just a shame that we hardly see the presidium this time around.

I know exactly what you mean interms of the actuall galaxy I have a much stronger emotinal attachment to the first gameFreakaz0idx wrote...
I still have full playthroughs of ME1 because of the points you made. Whenever I play ME2 it's just to screw around with the difficulty and battles. ME2 story feels so artificial, I have no emotional attachment to it like I did with ME1, if that makes any sense.

I know what you mean BioWare did a great job in terms of gameplay but I stil miss the more retro Sci-FI of ME1PlumPaul82393 wrote...
ME2 has MUCH better combat, story in some ways was a filler but I still enjoyed it. And even though others don't I like how you can do almost everything in one playthrough (regarding level cap, quests, achievements (hated companion achievements in ME1),etc). I loved ME but ME2 is much more enjoyable since you don't have to do 4 playthoughs to be able to do almost everything. JMO. Also my favorite place in ME was Virmire fun.

They kind of drove this all over in Mass Effect 2, still a great game but they just "**** this" and turned it into much more action. Hell I can barely talk anyone out of fighting anymore. Everyone gone nuts and Shepard is cold bloodied.
I didn't really notice this (haven't played ME2 in a couple months), remember any example of this? Also if it is bad at least it isn't as bad as DA2 in terms of this
