I actually like having the ability to flirt with her only to be rejected. It's like the reverse of the Anders situation that everyone keeps going on and on about in that I like her but she's not into to me.

I don't really like the straight romance options in DAII. Isabella's alright, not so into Merrill, Aveline just wants to be friends.....yeah pretty much like high school all over again. In some ways that's awesome

Well In DA;O you can also have the one nighter with the elf servant if you were Cousland. On the flip side it isn't like you have a ton of options of for male characters to romance either. Actually two play throughs and I have yet to care about a romance.

I wish I had ME3 registered as well.
Why can't they have a genderless LI like in ME? That would solve all our problems! They need to create a genderless race of some sort. Are there any female darkspawn? Or Qunari LI. I don't know how they'd set that one up though.

Darkspawn are the curroption of man, they have those mother things that they transform woman into so yeah I would have to say they have woman... ugh yuck. I would imagine the Qunari have females as well, a genderless race would be hard to explain on Dragon Age mythology but at least you can take solice in that elves are really still hard to tell

I did feel the romance options were lacking but it had more to do with how the conversation system worked and David Gaider actually commented on it in another post (specific to companions). On the number of options, I can't complain. I may not particularly like Merrill but someone else has probably written volumes of fanfic about all the blood mage fetish things they like in another post. What I liked about Aveline was that I really liked her and got shot down. I realize that that will happen with every play through, but given that I do have two straight romance options already including the option to flirt with the character that I actually liked and get turned away was interesting to me. She actually reminds me of a girl that I wanted to date that turned me down in real life.....prominent jaw and all

Well to be honest, you could have a fling with other women in Origins, who were not prostitutes.

I actually found myself in that position once, which for me anyway, made it even more priceless because I thought she would eventually see why I was the better choice. Of course that didn't happen and i was transported back 15 years

quoted for truth, I have yet to have a pure (non-interracial) or straight relationship in either DA:O or DAII... my Templar bromanced Anders (then killed him! lol) while my mage hooked up with Merrill, I have yet to romance Isabella...
in DA:O my elves ended up with Leliana & Morrigan while my Cousland was totally into Zevran (though she did have a fling with Isabella, Zevran & Leliana in the Pearl... that was just hilarious!
