weren't there only 2 in origins as well?

He doesn't have DA:O registered, only ME 3. He probably thinks having three women to romance (+ Kelly fling) is now standard.

I infact do have Origins and have played through many times on each origin and gender but for some reason it wont register it here when I put the CD Key in. DA2 was supposed to be an improvement, many people have complained about the tiny details, some more than tiny details, I would have thought they would have improved on that point.

Agree 100 per cent. The whole quest with Dorric was brilliant.

Anyway, I thought it made a nice change to have an option to romance someone but fail. Why should they automatically love you?

Sort of like real life, well, for me, anyway!

I tried to keep my hawke from being gay, but there was a transvestite or something in the blooming rose OOOPPPSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the end of the quest i wanted to stab Donnic, i had to stop playing the game, i was raging at every character i interacted with. It was great.

After hearing Aveline talking about Donnic(why she likes him etc') I though that a diplomatic, warrior Hawke would be able to romance her(IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THAT WAY).
But accoridng to the Wiki, you can't romance her at all.

You can flirt with her, but she doesn't get it and it ends in a conversation where she says "I know there was never anything there, but did you ever wonder about us?" And you can "No, no, of course not", "omg, that would have been an epic disaster", and "Just go be happy and pretend I don't exist, okay?"

The first is +friend, the second is +rival, and third has the heartbreak icon.

Its actually a very nicely done romance.  Its just doomed to failure.

I have the opposite problem. My favorite romance is a female (Isabella) and Merrill's romance is very sweet even if she annoys the crap out of me.
Anders and Fenris are just the flip coin of emo annoyance. Sebastian is celibate.
Being a lady I like to play females but that means I have to choose one of the annoying emo guys if I want a Het romance option or listen to Maker-speak every second of every day for the rest of my life.
This playthrough I'm playing a Bisexual Rogue LadyHawke (yea like we don't have enough of those in game) who is totally into the Pirate queen.
But yea, Aveline was awesome even if she broke my Hawke boy's heart. I kind of like the idea that she has a life and a love who ISN'T the main character. I wouldn't have traded that quest (and her reactions to Roland's flirtation attempts) for just another romance option.

I agree. The Het chick options are pretty meh. Can you rivalmance Sebastian so he's less piously annoying?

Sebastian can't be rivalmanced. Has the strictest requirements. You must be female, friendship and can't have flirted with anyone else the entire game.

Must agree that the worst options are Male. Its hard to romance Anders knowing where the story ends up. Its one of those you must do the first playthrough for maximum value. Fenris is just too easy to go wrong with and makes you wonder if it was really worth the trouble when it happens.

As far as i know all you can get from aveline is a kiss. I romanced isabella and merril at the same time and isabella asked me about her, which i lied about, and she threatened to cut my balls off if i do. Also it's weird but you can get gay with anders,

I was pretty bummed you couldn't romance her. Seeing how she's one of the few level headed companions you have.
