I wish there had been an option for Riordan to impregnate Morrigan... if for no other reason than my character was with Zev, and Alistiar clearly didn't want to do it. I felt bad letting Alistair take the dragon's head, but he really really really didn't seem like he wanted to be king, no matter how much encouragement he got from my PC. So he died, Morrigan didn't get demon-baby (I know its an Old God), and my PC rode off into the sunset with his lover... all was well in the land of Ferelden.

But then the epilogue glitched and acted like Alistair hadn't died at all. So It was even better.

I think the point to take away from this thread is that Riordan is the worst Grey Warden ever.

Pretty much - all this could have been avoided had the Grey Wardens sent someone with a bit more sense.

That being said, I'm glad that everything turned out the way it did (Loghain killing the Archdemon, Alistair running off in a fit, Morrigan leaving without her god-child). Makes for a far better tragic tale, one the bards will be repeating for ages to come.

This thread is like the whining you can sometimes read about a new book in a cycle, only worse because it comes from people accustomed to making decisions on what happens next :-P

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I don't have much of a problem with Morrigan. The reaction you get from her if you really befriend her (or if she's really in love with you) is sweet and touching and incredibly awkward. She seemed pretty genuine about caring about the PC, based on how uncertain and wrong-footed she was. I'm sure the Chantry's tales about the Tevinter Imperium being ZOMGPUREEVIL are not entirely true. It probably says a lot about my feelings toward the Chantry that I'm willing to trust Morrigan's judgment more then theirs to the point of allowing her to resurrect the spirit of an Old God, but there you have it. The Old Gods were worshipped as powerful, benevolent beings, and they're distinct from Archdemons. She wants the spirit of the Old God, not Old God + taint. If the Old Gods are anything like the rest of the world, they're very different when not corrupted by the Blight.

Though I just think dragons are awesome. I didn't touch the High Dragon in Haven, felt bad about killing Flemeth in dragon form, and thought "Wow, what a magnificent creature" when I first saw the Archdemon in the Deep Roads before I remembered it was tainted XD Clearly, my opinion's rather skewed.
