Well, my first mage Lady Hawke was a curious gal. This time curiosity killed the mage. Literally.

Hawke: Oooooooooooh, lookie, chests!

Varric: We really should find a.....oh fine!

Hawke: *Loots* Yay, more pointless junk!

Carver: You keep making me proud.....*Snerk*

Hawke: Oooooooooooh! Door! *Hops over*

Anders: I don't think you should.........

*Whoosh*

Hawke and party kill 6 spiders. Hawke turns back to the door....

*Whoosh*

Hawke: Another wave! *Turns around* OMGZWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHNOOOOOOOOOOHEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! *Drops dead*

Everyone else: Yeah. We're gonna die here.

Lucked out on the spider fight. Varric and I were on the stairs when it started raining spiders. I thought, "Oh, no problem, we've dealt with these before." Sure Anders was sucking a little and I couldn't get him out of harms way before two spiders chewed his legs off but that's ok, Fenris was still spanking them and Varric and I were raining down death by arrow. Then.....Then.....That big **** spider came from nowhere and all I could do was push Varric to the other set of stairs, back my rogue archer up as far as she could go up another set of stairs and try to get Fenris out of the way. All the while praying that friggin spider was too big to get up the narrow stairway. Unfortunately, I can't make Fenris stay put when I want him to so he fell in pretty short order and it was up to the dwarf and I to avenge our fallen comrades.

eww yes. The spider rape in DA:O was the worst! Poor Alistair will never be the same.

LOL, I hated 'overwhelm' as well...espcially when it usually happens in the deep roads where I don't take Alistair with me through there because I had Shale and/or oghren in the party at the time( i considered that part their personal questline) so I couldn't get anyone to 'shield bash' the damn things off of me...

The only thing even remotely funny about the spiders falling from the sky in this game is when they occasionally get stuck suspended in mid air because it both looks rather funny and makes them easier to kill since they can't attack back.

I've always wanted my Snarky Hawke to change one of their lines they say when you're controlling another party member and your click on Hawke. Hawke says "When in doubt, run away and let me handle it." I'd like to have it changed to "When in doubt, run away and let me handle it. Unless it involves Spiders, then just follow the sound of my footfalls."

@PyroJack: Honestly I think the real pictures of real spiders have desensitized me to Thaig Crawlers and Wasp Spiders. Plus that one up there's pedipalps are offering free hugs.

@Esbatty: admittedly the real pictures made my skin crawl the most haha don't have much problem with DA2s spiders though i admit to jumping out my skin when they dropped down suddenly gits

The only thing in DAO that came close to the Monstrous Spider encounter was when you're rollin' through the Deep Roads chasing after Branka and the Spider's RUN AWAY FROM YOU as you pass through corridors and passages, where they RECEDE INTO THE CIELING AND WALLS. *shudders*

it didn't help that Morrigan would remain in Spider form sometimes when we'd be rolling around Ferelden.

I hated that bit soon as they ran from me i got ready to jump haha and for some reason when playing as a mage i actually enjoyed being able to turn into a giant spider probably because then i was the very thing i feared which helps well a little anyway

The final boss of Dragon Age 2 should have been a giant f*cking spider. The game would be so scary and intense! Much better than stupid Meredith.
